Can't we, please.

No, and we can't pretend that black people are only servants, either. We need to drag our minds out of the world that 1950's television presented.

By the way, who dug this old chestnut out of the ash heap? This topic had been dormant for two and a half years. Maybe it's appealing to people who want to make themselves feel righteous by criticizing former Catholics who have "recovered" from the effects of it on their lives.

Don't let anyone tell you there are no fascists on the left. These people would deny freedom of religion. They are fascists.

On your second point, you might or might not be right. But it's the church's and the school's issue to determine, not the government's and not yours. On the first point, I agree that it's wrong to call them "dykes." It is perfectly appropriate to call them nasty names -- political names, like "fascist," for example. "Bullies" would do nicely as well.

I didn't say it was the Government's job, and it isn't my job, but I can have an opinion as someone who's sympathetic to the views and ideals of the Catholic Church.

They should try to enroll her in the local Madrassa and see how they are greeted.

What's amazing is that you've got people who honestly believe that homosexuals only want equal rights. These perverts could go to any other school, even public but they decide to go to a Catholic school, probably HOPING to get turned down so they can force their will onto the school.

What's even more amazing is that we have some of these idiots among us here at FR.

So is divorce.

didn't Moses permit divorce under certain circumstances? in any case, if a Christian is divorced, i might see it as a past sin... living the homosexual lifestyle is living in sin... it's unrepented...

Actually, all divorce isn't unbiblical - only no fault divorce.

This is all part of the strategy. Tolerance is not enough. They demand to be in your life, in your children's life, in your school, on your TV, in your church, in your face.

Same Sex Attraction Disorder is, always has been, and always will be a mental illness...

I've never advocated that. I would, however, expect the school to make at least small attempts to prevent this child from being abused by peers who would tease about it.

No. Better that they not accept her in the first place. The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual acts are gravely disordered. This girl's mother and her sex partner are putting the child in an impossible situation--forcing her to attend a school where their sexual proclivities are considered an abomination. I notice they didn't try to put her in a Muslim school. I wonder how that would have gone over?

The rules should be very simple--if you want to put your child in a Catholic school, make sure you have a living arrangement at home that's in accordance with Catholic moral teaching. And that goes for divorced and remarrieds and "shack-ups" too.

I was wondering the same thing. It was post 57.

Now I'm wondering what happened with the lawsuit...

The Bible teaches us that those who divorce and remarry are committing adultery against their former spouses. The Catholic Church does not allow divorced people to marry in the Church or accept sacraments. Should the school hold the same standards to these people as they do towards homosexuals?

Absolutely. The rule should be regularize your relationship at home in the eyes of the Church, or don't bother sending your kid to our school. There's been too much of this kind of infiltration already and the net effect has been powerfully negative.

I know so many Black people who just LOVE it when people compare their authentic struggle to gain acceptance to those of people who habitually sodomize each other.

Maybe it's appealing to people who want to make themselves feel righteous by criticizing former Catholics who have "recovered" from the effects of it on their lives.

Ahhhh! Thank you! I personally LOVE it when poorly catechized Catholic washouts decide that they, in their infinite wisdom, know what's best for the Church.

Read Mark 10 again.

In Mark 10 Jesus says anyone who divorces for any reason who then remarries is committing adultery. In Matthew He seems to make an exception for cheating spouses. In either case the overwhelming majority of all divorces in the U.S. don't involve one spouse cheating on the other. So by Biblical teaching, people who divorce and remarry are living an adulterous lifestyle. That's a sin they are committing every single day, not once in the past. And it seems to be unrepentant on their part.

If homosexuality is a sin then adultery certainly is, and the school should exclude children who's parents divorced and remarried.

And yet it seems from the people here that if the story concerned a married couple, one or both who had been married and divorced, who's children were denied entry then the support would be for the parents.

...poorly catechized Catholic washouts...

And I suppose if they had been properly catechized, they'd still be there, like you.

Thanks, I just learned a new synonym for "brainwashed".

"No, and we can't pretend that black people are only servants, either."

Gee, what an utterly predictable tactic, straight out of the Left's playbook. Don't agree with anything, play the race card - no matter how irrelevant it may be to the question at hand.

I don't know why this thread got bumped back to life - it happens fairly often on FR - but I can't take too seriously the complaints of anyone so detached from reality as to equate the Civil Rights struggle with the radical Homosexual crusade to impose their lifestyles on the rest of us via malicious lawsuits.

Congratulations on your "recovery," but if you really believed in free choice and self-determination you'd show no quarter to individuals or groups attempting to use the courts to force their agendas on private associations.

What a shame to see the radical gay agenda supported on Free Republic.
