Arizona congressman doesn't find anti-Kerry ads inappropriate

U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe, R-Ariz., said he doesn't find ads accusing Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry of lying about his military service inappropriate.

"If Senator Kerry can trot out his people on stage that he served with to use as an endorsement of his military service, then it's not inappropriate for others who also served with him to question whether his service is all it's made up to be," Kolbe said Friday.

Kolbe said he got to know Kerry during his year as a naval communications officer and later as an operations officer in Vietnam.

The 60-second ad is scheduled to air in a few markets in Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

It was paid for by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, an advocacy group made up of former military officers and enlisted men who served in Vietnam on Navy Swift boats or in affiliated commands.

And yet McCain, just before he was scheduled to spend a few days making campaign appearances with Bush, feels the need to attack the ad in the strongest terms possible.

Something not right about McCain. It's like he wants to be a major player - anyway he can.

Are the Pubs really better-off with him? I'm not so sure. I wish he would go ahead and switch to the Dems already - let them deal with him - and him with them.

Will this story fade as fast as Sandy Berger and his theft of documents? We hear nothing of that now,

Waxman is trying to stop the Congressional hearing on Berger from proceeding saying there's an ongoing DOJ investigation. Can't have Congress asking questions that the public may hear, can we? Unfortunately for Waxman and his ilk, the DOJ said people are free to testify before the committee.

If you can believe the AP, we've just seen the beginning of Bush bashing. Check out A bevy of books on Bush due in bookstores before balloting, which says, "dozens of new books criticizing President George W. Bush are about to flood US bookstores."

McCain is up for re-election this year. I lost the ability to tolerate him years ago; but his bogus McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform was the last straw for me. Taking away first amendment rights while not providing for more transparency in where money is coming from is more than I could stomach.

I think this is where McCain is coming from, again showing his lack of good judgment regarding what is right or true:

McCain won't join in GOP criticism of Kerry

McCain said he is pleased to co-chair President George W. Bush's Arizona re-election effort with fellow GOP Sen. Jon Kyl but he won't attack Kerry.

"John Kerry is a friend of mine therefore I don't wish to criticize him," McCain told reporters at the Arizona State Capitol....

Apparently President Bush isn't a friend of McCain's since McCain is more than happy to criticize him.

Kolbe is usually like McCain and that's why the press contacted him. He's usually good for a few shots at his own people. He's a big time lib.

Trouble is, Randy Graf has him running scared. Graf is a genuine conservative, and is taking on Kolbe in the primary. Now Kolbe is flooding my house with mailers that try to link himself to Bush, even saying "Hi neighbor, I'm so glad to represent you." It's putrid and pathetic, coming from this pink rino. He usually thumbs his nose at us and does whatever he wants, just like McCain. And the Crats are so delighted they don't run anybody against him.

Vote for Randy Graf, people. Let's get rid of at least one of our stinkers here in AZ this year.

McCain has always been a hothead that holds a grudge and he just can't get over being beaten by Bush.

A couple of years ago it got so bad that a bunch of top McCain staffers threatened to resign if he didn't cool it.

The only reason we are currently better off with McCain is because we need his seat for a majority in the senate. If we can ever gain a few more seats, we would be better off dumping him.

McCain will never switch on his own. He knows he has more chances to get on TV when he can be used as a propaganda tool by left-wing media. He wouldn't be as valuable to them as just another democrat.
