If there was no resurrection, then there is no hope for us.
Mohammed hijacked the Bible and rewrote it to suit his whims. He claims that it was handed to him by God. I refuse to accept this concept and thus claim that the only similarities between the Judeo-Christian faith and those of Islam are those that were plagiarized by Mohammed.
Jews and Christians both accept the Old Testament text. The difference is in accepting whether Jesus was a fulfillment of OT prophecy or not. Jews are still waiting for the first coming while Christians await the second coming.
I will not speak for all Jews but it seems to me that more Christians await the second coming than I hear the Jewish community awaits the first.
Myself, I would rather not have to endure the horrors on Earth that are written to precede the second coming. If I go to Heaven when I die (God's grace willing) I should encounter Him soon enough.
Jesus was and still is who He said He was. That said , I always keep the following in mind: Christianity did not replace Judaism. I'm a "grafted branch" (I love that FReepers nick, BTW) and the Jewish people are my spirtual brothers and sisters. The Lords promises concerning Israel and the Jewish people will no more go unfulfilled than any other promise. He DOES NOT LIE. Satan does. "oh the Muslims are monotheists too. Are'nt they your brothers and sisters too?" Nope.
