It took the NWS all that to say "My Bonnie lies over the Ocean"?

Hmmm, looks like a Thursday landfall near Pensacola, even though it's tracking northwest right now.

One week shy of 35 years since Camille formed south of Cuba.
I was only five then but I remember watching the weather reports from ole Bob Neblett on WJTV out of Jackson. I don't think the conditions are right for that kind of strengthening but she's got the name for it.

My first Hurricane Season here in Florida. I am in the Tampa Bay area, which is not a frequent Hurricane target, but for me it is a big deal.

I don't know which is worse, the Huge Tornados and large damaging hail storms of Texas, or Hurricane possibility here in FL.

I surprised Drudge doesn't have this posted with a flashing siren. He loves natural disasters.

Ah, time to fire up the hurricane tracking software. Too bad it looks like the storm will go bug FlorDUH instead of bringing some rain to Texas.

Latest RECON indicates a closed wall on Bonnie, but still only tropical storm force winds.

Just put a rental deposit on a Gulf Front Condo this morning. Sept 7th for a week. We do this every year, maybe this year we won't get so lucky? Booo-hooooo, sniff.

If the projections prove accurate it should hit just West of Panama City.

The one I'm worried about is Charley. Those storms that go through the Yuctan like the Texas coast despite what some of the early models look like. We haven't had a "Big One" in the form of a direct hit in the Corpus area since 1971 with Celia.
