Thanks, I hadn't seen that thread. There were a couple more about this issue. I'll put a link here to find easier.

"Citing concerns about terrorists crossing the nation's land borders, the Department of Homeland Security announced today that it planned to give border patrol agents sweeping new powers to deport illegal aliens from the frontiers abutting Mexico and Canada without providing the aliens the opportunity to make their case before an immigration judge."

Actually, this is how the original LAW IS WRITTEN. So they are going to allow "enforcement" of the current code and say it's something "NEW"?

Can we dare hope that this is finally going to start running the illegal rats out of our country?

God I hope so

You cannot be serious. You just refuted your own argument. Mechanization is the way to go with regards to agriculture. The South was wrong. You're trying to imply that they should have retained slaves in place of mechanizing...?

Mechanization / technological innovation is the answer rather than increased immigration. Even the libertarians' favorite immigration authority, Julian Simon, admitted that immigration was not a necessity and that countries with more stringent immigration policies could outpace nations with more generous immigration policies.

Yes.

A month or so back, Fox addressed a group of Illegaliens in Michigan (I think) to tell them of SSI revisions in America to allow them accounts through which they could receive SSI benefit credit.

A week later, it was released to the American public of a proposal from SSI admin for the same thing.

Fox told Illegaliens BEFORE the AMERICAN TAXPAYER was told.
How's that for evidence Fox is holding the strings to our puppet government?!?

A few FReepers prolly have the links to those posts.

I have known about this for quite some time now (not just a month of so back). These people paid social security taxes so they were entitled to refunds because they would not be eligible for SS benefits because they are non-citizens.

When I worked in Rome, the same thing happened to me. I paid for Italian benefits that I also can request a refund from Italy. Too much trouble. But if someone in the US would do for me what Fox has done, I would file to get my money back.

IF you had "paid" into Italy's fund under a forged or stolen ID number, do you still believe you should be eligible for credit?

Personally, I think the only benefits you should be eligible for is what you'd get during your incarceration until you're released at the border - which would include your travel fare..

Very valid point about being a forged or stolen ID card.

If they are helped to get refunds, perhaps the US should charge "cash only" for non-illegals at hospitals, schools, etc.

I'm in favor of charging back to Mexico anything paid for by the citizens of American for illegals.
