Give me a break! Would everyone please realize that the media doesn't give a DAMN about reporting facts, being objective, promoting the bottom line of whatever company they're with, etc. They only care about beating George Bush. Period, end of story. If they reported that John Kerry said the sun would rise in West tomorrow, and it then rose in the East, they would just comment on prison scandals and blame George Bush. The only thing these people will take pride in is John Kerry in the White House.

No, it isn't too early. Bush-hatred DOES trump all. Furthermore, "big-time journalists," as Hewitt puts it, weren't suckered at all, nor are they angry at Kerry. With the sole exception of stories to discredit Kerry's "attackers," the entire saga of Kerry's Vietnam service will continue to be portrayed by those "big-time" journalists as heroic.

The swift boat story will not resonate among the general public, because few in the public will ever hear about it.

Terrific article! Hewitt nails Kerry. If Kerry admits he lied, nothing he says stands on its own merit. If he refuses to answer, voters will draw their own conclusions. The press will have to decide whether to tell the truth and dump Kerry cheerleading in this time of great national peril, or go down with the Good Ship Kerry. Glug, glug.
