Greetings from 'Brussels': Excerpts of Peterson, Frey phone calls
In the first few days of 2003, as scores of volunteers were searching for his missing wife, Scott Peterson made repeated calls to his mistress, Amber Frey. Although he claimed to be on an extended business trip in Europe, and provided elaborate details of his stay there, he was actually calling from his home in Modesto, Calif. Frey, meanwhile, was secretely recording their phone calls for police.

FREY: So what do you want to be together with me?
PETERSON: Well, I mean obviously my, you know, my thoughts are that I think that we, you know, would be wonderful together........

August 12, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. In a chilling exchange during a taped telephone conversation played yesterday at Scott Pe terson's murder trial, the phi landering fertilizer salesman threatened to kill a barking dog believed to be his wife, Laci's, protective pooch.
Peterson, who claimed he was outside a Paris hotel as he chatted with his mistress Amber Frey, was really at home in Modesto and the dog he was fuming about was very likely McKenzie, Laci's pet Labrador retriever.
Peterson's jurors are familiar with McKenzie and his relent less barking. Earlier in the trial, they heard and saw the pooch on videotapes showing police searching Peterson's home as they investigated the disappear ance of his pregnant wife.
The barking heard in court yesterday was on a taped .......

Frey: Peterson Pretended To Be In Paris
Jury Listens To Taped Phone Conversations
Aug. 11 (AP) Scott Peterson told his mistress days after the disappearance of his wife he is accused of murdering that his favorite movie was a gory 1980 motion picture in which a husband unsuccessfully plots to kill his wife.
Prosecutors spent all day Wednesday playing about a dozen recorded telephone calls Peterson made to Amber Frey as authorities searched for Laci Peterson. The audio tapes were an effort by the authorities to show jurors that Peterson did not care about his wife and had motive to kill her and their unborn child so he could be with Frey.
On one conversation Jan. 4, Peterson and Frey were overheard conversing about movies, a call Peterson made to Frey in which he said .........

Hundreds of people stood waiting in a Modesto park for the start of a candlelight vigil for Scott Peterson's missing pregnant wife. Nearby, Peterson phoned his secret girlfriend, Amber Frey, and breezily told her he was in Paris watching fireworks at the Eiffel Tower.
Hours later, Peterson spoke to Frey for more than an hour by phone, asking her to have confidence that their relationship would "grow."
It was one week after Laci Peterson had been reported missing. Peterson asked Frey to describe her "sexy outfit" and lamented that unlike Jack Kerouac he "never had a prolonged .........

REDWOOD CITY Hours of telephone pillow talk between Scott Peterson and his girlfriend which she secretly recorded shortly after his pregnant wife disappeared filled the courtroom from gavel-to-gavel at his murder trial Wednesday.
The lovers' banter ranged from butterflies and rainbows to Peterson's ego, his definitions of love and his favorite movie about a man who tries to murder his wife and young son.
"There's a tear in my eye, and it's trickling," Peterson gushed after praising Amber Frey with flowery terms, reciting part of a Russian poem and musing at length about agape, which he called "the Lord's love." He had placed the call at 10:32 p.m. Jan. 4, 2003 two days before revealing to Frey that he was married to the subject of a massive search that was publicized across the continent...........

As you know, Amber Frey (search) took the stand yesterday for the first time. When I sat down before the trial began, an NBC reporter poked me and pointed to the first row of the courtroom. Since the room was crowded, I had not noticed that Amber was already there flanked by Gloria Allred and the prosecutor who would be questioning her in a short time.
You could "feel" the anticipation in the courtroom. On the right side of the courtroom sat Laci's family and on the left side sat Scott's family and we, the media and the public, sat behind both.
The seating arrangement resembles a wedding but this is hardly a wedding. This is a .........

Ladies and gentlemen, I have not mentioned this in the whole time it's been a story. I have not talked about it because it's not an issue that we would normally cover here, it's a typical cable news story, this Laci Peterson, Scott Peterson trial, but I'm unable to avoid it now. I do not believe what I'm seeing and you can't miss it. No matter how hard you try, you just cannot miss it. .........

Peterson Told Frey He Loved 'The Shining'
Peterson Told Frey He Loved 'The Shining'
Thursday, August 12, 2004
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Prosecutors played for jurors a series of telephone calls Scott Peterson (search) made to his mistress including one where he tells her "The Shining" (search) is "the best movie ever" in their attempt to show his nonchalance just days after his wife went missing and bolster their theory that the other woman was his motive for murder.
Jurors heard about a dozen calls Wednesday between Peterson and Amber Frey (search) that were recorded as authorities searched for Laci Peterson (search). In one conversation, Peterson told Frey days after Laci's disappearance that the best movie ever made was the 1980 horror thriller "The Shining," in which Jack Nicholson plays a man who tries to kill his wife.
On that exchange Jan. 4, 2003, Peterson told Frey he was in Paris although he was in his hometown of Modesto.
"So what's the best movie of all?" Frey asked.
"Oooh! The best movie ever made is 'The Shining,'" Peterson replied.
Frey briefly testified after the tapes were played. Prosecutor Dave Harris, in his final words to Frey on the stand Wednesday, asked if police, beginning Jan. 6, 2003, took her "under their protection." She said "Yes." Frey's testimony was to pick up there on Thursday.
Gloria Allred, Frey's attorney, said the exchange about "The Shining" was the "bombshell" of Wednesday's developments...........
PINGING.........
PINGING.........
PINGING.........
This Peterson fellow, does anyone know if he's related to John Kerry?
Posts like your Cambodia one are what I love about FR.
Thank you, RB!
Was Geragos even in court yesterday? ROFL!
Cat got his tongue?
Look's like Ms. Frey has had some cosmetic work done.
What a waste of bandwidth........IMHO
Reading these transcripts shows that these two people are dumber than a box of rocks. Amber didn't even know what the word "genre" meant and he didn't sound like a brain surgeoun either.
They're playing excepts on the Drew and Mike show on WRIF here in Detroit. She is such a blabbering motormouth that the running joke is that you end up almost sympathizing with Scott.
He's not only despicable, he's unfathomable. After craftily checking out boat for sales, tide charts and fishing gear so as to cover his crime, he proceeds to act like an idiot and prances about making compromising phone calls to his mistress and taunting the police. He either didn't care if he was caught, or is suffering from some sort of mental state where he thinks that he is so smart no one can prove him guilty.
Court TV is playing the tapes right now!!!
I'm listening!

OK, but what's Gloria's last name?
Thanks!
Have it on now and see my Court TV Channel went "LIVE" as they do for the big trials (otherwise we get it tape delayed).
I see they're going to play commercials, too...
Earlier, Beth and Kimberly were talking about the fact that Amber was obviously in love with this guy, but then found out he probably killed his wife and the cops needed her to get him on tape. She was taping within hours of finding out that her boyfriend was a fraud and possible murderer.
She sounds like an absolute dingbat. But when factoring in what was going on in her heart and mind, she's phenomenal.
Scott just oozes slime and bs.
