After Crossfire and Hardball Tonight, is There Any Question Remaining? The Media is the Real Enemy.
The Media is the Real Enemy ^ | 8-12-04 | Bob J

Posted on 08/12/2004 9:40:42 PM PDT by Bob J

On the 5th I posted an article title The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!. After observing what has happened since and in particular the performance typified by Crossfire and Hardball tonight, is there any question remaining that our primary activism objective needs to be defeating the media hegemony that nourishes the beast?

I've been involved in FReeper activism beginning way back with the March for Justice in '98. I now believe my energies have been nothing but shadow boxing. Every single action that we have undertaken against groups or individuals can trace their existence to an adoring dim media that creates them, props them up and then protects them from damage through propaganda, misdirection and lies.

I think it's time we redirect our efforts to the source that creates, sustains and drives liberalism.

Comments and suggestions?

I believe the Socialists in America are running scared! This story used to have legs, it is growing wheels. THe Socialist media are in a panic in a major way.

The new line is no one served with sKerry during all three of his PH's.

I have read part of the transcript of the CNN interview with Clownville/lapdog Davis vs O'Neil. They are sicko's.

What I do is try to point out to people I communicate with how the media is being unfair. I point out that the public is in effect being lied to and that we deserve much better.

I have an email newslist that I sent stuff out on every day mostly FR articles and stuff that won't make it into the msm press.

Letters to them won't work they just get tossed out. But putting alternative media in front of folks eyes can help open some. I started with 3 on my email newslist and I'm up to about 15. Despite invitations that I'll remove anybody at anytime they no longer want to receive the newslist, I've had NO takers. And I know that some of them send the stuff on around to others they know.

It's what I can think of to do. ((hugs))

That Carville/Davis /ONeill transcript just took my breath away. Glad I didn't watch it.

I saw a bit of Hardball last night (it was a clicker-related accident!) and Chris Matthews was absolutely detestable. Truth certainly wasn't his top priority. His show was like an SNL parody of his show.

They had a hand in it..........twice as far as Bubba. I of course will add that GHWB and Dole didn't run very exciting campaigns, but still the press pushed the lies the Clinton goons put out and I think we had a brain-dead, apathetic and lazy electorate in the 90's. I have faith that the liberal/leftist press has been "found out" for what they really are in the past few years and people are seeing it now. GO W!

Headline today: "Bush Flip-Flops On Campaign"

They are actually reporting that Bush is not using the phrase "Turning The Corner" in his stump speeches, and showing how the Democrats are using the phrase to make their points.

This is completely incredible. Kerry's on all sides of all issues, with no concept of what the truth is, and gets a pass. Bush doesn't use his catchphrase for a few days, and he's a "flip-flopper".

We know damn well who the enemy is. Their time will come.

I should have mentioned, this was a feature vignette on the old reliable Communist News Network.

Carvell/Davis/O'Neil link here is the transcript posted from CNN...

Wow! Carville's performance was deplorable. All they can do is shout down the Swiftboat Vets. Combined with the fact that none of the vets are making a dime off of the book, I'm 100% convinced that what they're saying is the truth.

"They start with a totally distorted picture of the news BECAUSE of the reporting services."

You hit the nail on the head on one of the biggest problems.

Great letter. Whenever I write these idiots, I resort to name calling. I can't help it. They bring out the childishness in me. Your letter was respectful and factual. Kudos.

Amen. I wholeheartedly agree. We need to be on our knees for this election, like we did last time. Bush is under intense spiritual warfare. Did you see them on Larry King last night? I only caught the last half hour and was so impressed with both of them. What lovely people they are --from the inside out. The sincerity just flowed from them. He spoke of his faith and how you can't separate a person from his faith. Wonderful.

God bless the Vietnam vets! My brother served in Qui Nhon and came back a drug addict and a drunk. He just died a month ago. The way he was treated when he came home was a disgrace to the American way. I will always be grateful to the veterans for keeping our country safe.

"Okay - defunding .. how do we do that ..??"

A large part of liberal group funding comes from the government and private corporations and foundations. We work the government end with our friends in Congress and with corporations we attack their source of funding...customers and advertisers. Foundations are a different nut to crack and that may depend more exposing them in the media.

"Balance ideology in education .. how do we do that ..??"

We can begin by working with and supporting organizations like Students for Academic Freedom a group started by David Horowitz (I believe). Much of the ground work is already there, no need to reinvent the wheel.

"Alas, my own experience has been that there is not (or was not) sufficient interest among conservative activists to mount any kind of sustained effort against Rather, Jennings, et al. Do you agree, or no?"

I think the interest is there, people are waiting for FReepers to put it together!

As far as the CCRM, they've been dormant of late but I have been in contact with bert about my ideas.

Attacking their funding (cusotmers, advertising, etc) may be our most potent weapon! And yes, we will need a LARGE group of people to effect that.

Exactly. But to be effective, it has to be focused, relentless and there has to be punch behind the threat.

We organize (we'll need millions of members and hundreds of local chapters), develop a plan of attack and execute it.
