After Crossfire and Hardball Tonight, is There Any Question Remaining? The Media is the Real Enemy.
The Media is the Real Enemy ^ | 8-12-04 | Bob J

Posted on 08/12/2004 9:40:42 PM PDT by Bob J

On the 5th I posted an article title The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!. After observing what has happened since and in particular the performance typified by Crossfire and Hardball tonight, is there any question remaining that our primary activism objective needs to be defeating the media hegemony that nourishes the beast?

I've been involved in FReeper activism beginning way back with the March for Justice in '98. I now believe my energies have been nothing but shadow boxing. Every single action that we have undertaken against groups or individuals can trace their existence to an adoring dim media that creates them, props them up and then protects them from damage through propaganda, misdirection and lies.

I think it's time we redirect our efforts to the source that creates, sustains and drives liberalism.

Comments and suggestions?

"The enemy is we ourselves, an increasingly G-dless, unpatriotic and dumbed-down culture. We met the enemy and it's us."

Agreed, and that's the beauty of altering the media bias. JoeSixPack and SoccorMom would have a balanced view of current events and may begin to question their liberal spoon fed beliefs.

"This is all nice and quixotic, but you would be more effective telling us that we should attend churches and synagogues more often."

Disagree. Much of the American populace are no longer practicing Christians or Jews, not to mention agnostics, humanists, and atheists...but they all watch TV.

You actually agree: my point was that they watch what they want. If you want to change the status quo, don't fight the media as much as change the values of people; make them practicing Christians and Jews once again.

Attacking their funding (customers, advertising, etc) may be our most potent weapon

This is already being done by a small percentage of consumers. Some way to connect more would be more powerful. With enough simultaneous cooperation this could impact.

Actually, with due respect, we don't agree. Conversion and re-establishment of religious values to further the conservative position would be much harder than re-educating the populace via TV and print. The trick is to connect current events and the political machinery to the dumbed-down myopic personal interests of modern society.

Good Evening, Texasforever,

I can't speak for all vets, of course, only myself, but I am proud to be a Navy vet, of 2 full Vietnam deployments, and I can't think of anyone who actually earned those amount and type of medals in as short a time as Kerry claims. (I sure as heck don't have them ;-)

I have heard so many stories about has actions with the Swift Boats, including his grandstanding "McArthur returns to the Phillipines" stunt, instead of standing off and engaging the enemy with the .50's which would have been a much more sensible method of engagement (Why, would ANYONE decide to beach the boat and step ashore in a Hot area, when the proper and more sensible response would be to use the .50's and macerate whatever happens to be along the bank...

Nope, nobody earned all that in that short a time, as far as I know, methinks he is a "Stolen Valor" finalist, a liar, which, of course is status quo for any dim candidate....makes him a hero to the dumbo rank and file...

Keep the Faith for Freedom

Greg

And when it comes to controlling Hollywood or artists in general,

Big nail driven right here.

With more artists and movies espousing the conservative view of things, our circumstance might improve.

A quick glance around any mall will atest that 'artists' hold sway and their power goes unchecked and misunderstood by conservatives.

Sad to say that Paul Revere and the Raiders were the last to connect early American icona to popular culture.

Anybody but Bush! No mater what deceptions the media and Michael Moore spout, so long as it tarnishes Bush it's a good thing.

Let me get this straight. The "anybody-but-bush" crowd -- there's a lot of them -- is willingly supporting the mainstream media's deception and lies in a clear case of the ends justify the means.

To all of them: the media is using you -- controlling you like puppets on a string

SNAP OUT OF IT!!

The same main stream media whose deceptions you support lead you to this point. They've been deceiving you from the word go. They incrementally applied one deception on top of another. They started out small and gradual and eventually became major deceptions and outright lies.

They manipulated you with the intent that one day you would conclude that "any body but Bush" was worth lowering yourself to their level of embracing deception and dishonesty. You've been deceived and now the deceivers have you in their back pocket -- a supporting accomplice to their deceptions.

* * *

Nothing good can come from deception. Certainly not when it comes to voting for a President. Why the main stream media has been intent on deceiving their audience is of little practical use. That information won't help educate you on either candidate's accomplishments and vision for the future. Nor will it inform you have their flaws.

The Presidential election is just around the corner. Time is short. People will go about their business and the economy will continue humming along, or "sputtering" if you believe the main stream media.

However, there is the possibility that tomorrow or next year or the year after terrorist could bring it to a screeching halt. If terrorists win, we all lose. Lose virtually everything. And that's exactly what they seek and live and die for.

This is no time for you to be deceived into voting for anyone. It's imperative that you vote for the most competent candidate for President -- the commander in chief of protecting all Americans and the economy from terrorists.

Where can you get an honest, unbiased appraisal of either candidate?

By and large, since we need a "war president" to defend and protect the country, for the most part veterans are among the most informed and honest when it comes to appraising potential war presidents.

According to the main stream media there are no skeletons in John Kerry's past. That's what they want you to believe by their omission. The facts are laid out by co-author, veteran and founder of Swift Boat Veterans For Truth: www.swiftvets.com Here's a link to their book: Unfit for Command- Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry

Not counting what you've been told by the main stream media, what do you really know about candidate John Kerry and President Bush?

Well, so to speak, you've experienced President Bush for three and a half years. So this will be a quick appraisal:

You've likely heard enough about President Bush's service in the National Guard. Recalling that on September 12, 2001 the question on everyone's mind was: where and how soon will the next terrorist strike hit? Much to President Bush and his administrations credit the United States has not suffered another terrorist attack.

Also, you should read several of the soldier's letters that have been published in small town newspapers and on the Internet. Many more positive events are progressing quite well in Iraq compared to a much smaller number of negative events.

The main stream media has spent dozens of hours on television and hundreds of print space covering events such as Iraqi prisoners being forced to wear panties on their head but have reported almost nothing about the positives that are rebuilding Iraq.

Aside from what the main stream media has been feeding you, what should you really know about John Kerry?

You can get a quick education on John Kerry and his competence, or lack thereof, as to how qualified, or unqualified he is for being President -- the commander in chief of protecting you, all Americans and the economy by reading: Unfit for Command- Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry

You should have more faith in the American voter to discern BS when it is presented to them.

I must be in an alternate universe.

While I agree with most of your remarks, any input, ideas, suggestions regarding the gist of this article would be appreciated.

As I see it, there are 3 root problems that continue to push us along the socialist path:
1. The long-time left leaning media;
2. The long-time left leaning education system;
3. The increasing apathy of the American populace.

The first two are addressed in this article. Any specific ideas?

"Sad to say that Paul Revere and the Raiders were the last to connect early American icona to popular culture."

As recently as last year, Paul and the Raiders, held performances to support our troops. He's a patriot and puts on a funny show. Their schtick is self-effacing and most times, spontaneous. Depending on the venue, they usually sell out their dates, with little to no promotion. The music and band's silly choreography are entertaining, and Paul's interspersed remarks are funny as hell.

If you get a chance to see them, it's money well spent...unlike some nostalgia groups. They play venues as small as nite clubs and as large as multi-thousand ticket fairs and concerts. They just enjoy what they do.

Actually, Clinton was well into his second term when the BJ's in the oval office became public. But what was disgusting was that even after the revelation, lots of those in the shameful party of slime voiced their desire to vote for Clinton for a third term, if possible, despite his "transgressions."

Perhaps a silver lining in this drama: More good but misguided people will become aware of the nature of the "leaders" of the Democrap party - that they are pathelogical, lying, self-centered and self-serving creeps who wouldn't cross the street to save a dying man's life.

Not that the Republican party is much better...
