After Crossfire and Hardball Tonight, is There Any Question Remaining? The Media is the Real Enemy.
The Media is the Real Enemy ^ | 8-12-04 | Bob J

On the 5th I posted an article title The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!. After observing what has happened since and in particular the performance typified by Crossfire and Hardball tonight, is there any question remaining that our primary activism objective needs to be defeating the media hegemony that nourishes the beast?

I've been involved in FReeper activism beginning way back with the March for Justice in '98. I now believe my energies have been nothing but shadow boxing. Every single action that we have undertaken against groups or individuals can trace their existence to an adoring dim media that creates them, props them up and then protects them from damage through propaganda, misdirection and lies.

I think it's time we redirect our efforts to the source that creates, sustains and drives liberalism.

Comments and suggestions?

The South Vietnamese were Buddhists and didn't celebrate Christmas.

Vietnam does/did have a small Catholic minority due to being a former French colony.

All you have to do is read the letters to the editor of USA Toady.

Speaking of which, why is it that every motel you go to furnishes USA Toady to their guests?

Why is it that almost every airport has on CNN on the TVs in the gate waiting areas?

Is there any wonder why the electorate is 50% for JEffinK?

What can be done about this?

The way O'Really handled the Swift Vets thing has caused me to despise him.

I no longer think him merely stupid.

He's malicious.

USA Today has the right mix of international, national and local news with just that right touch of national enquirer aroma.

CNN got their first, I'm not sure Fox has the capability or department to feed public areas like airports. You're not supposed to just turn on the cable for the enjoyment of your customers, there are copyright issues. They don't have the manpower or legal dept. to control barbershops, etc., but larger venues such as airports would certainly come under scrutiny. I'm not sure how Sports bars do it,maybe they pay some kind of fee like ASCAPP does for music.

As far as what are we going to do about it, I posted this thread for the very purpose of soliciting ideas.

and Paul's interspersed remarks are funny as hell.

Thanks Navy Vet. I'd gladly pay to see their show. Not far from Reno and such bands will play from time to time.

What bothers me is that too few bands today want to emulate the message of old: love songs. These are very American and were best performed by the likes of Aretha Franklin, the Supremes, the Mamas and Papas, early Beatles, Neil Diamond, etc. and a host of others. Yes, I listen to oldies when I tire of talk radio. Which happens often.

As a bluegrass musician myself, something about all music is that it must pass the test of time, and when it does, it's American music. I often think back to a time (age 13) when I slow-danced with a girl in Fresno to Percy Sledge's "When a man loves a woman". Haven't seen her since, moved to Connecticut that year. And the Righteous Brother's "Unchained Melody", look out, fire in the hole! But it was America then. And each time I hear them, it's America now.

In short, love beats hate handsdown. Our entertainers and cultural icons should understand that love in it's many forms is truly American. Brings me back to the Beatles: All you need is Love. I think they said a lot with this tune and perhaps, all we need, is to heed it. (dang Beatles were that good.)

"I say George Bush in a landslide win November 2nd !"

Hey Meek - from your keyboard strokes to God's ear!! That's how I see it too. Way too much anti-Kerry stuff that will sink him. Swift Boat Veterans had much to do with it, I think!

FOX News is making money hand over fist -- conservatives papers could do the same... It's only a question of time. Besides, it's the reporters and editors who are the problem. They've sold publishers (USA Today, etc.) a bill of goods about "prizes" being the measure. Bull. The measure of a paper is the number of readers who trust and respect the paper. "Prizes" are the bull fed to mushroom Publishers (keep 'em in the dark and feed them bull)

Aren't there any rich Republicans who can start a newspaper or a TV news channel?? I guess all the wealthy people are Democrats.

Yes, one question remains: considering their combined ratings, is anyone watching these loser networks?

I AGREE.

HOWEVER,

should we ever succeed in getting the best of the media cabal, the puppet masters would pull a list of trump cards out, if they had to, to regain control.

If all else failed, they wouldn't hesitate to hunt down and terminate every FREEPER alive.

We are talking about ruthless, evil and deeply entrenched as well as determined to see the Biblically predicted satanic globalist government set up in our lifetime. And, they are well on the way to succeeding. The economic part is almost complete.

A daily newspaper in the Top 50 markets as well as a newswire to compete with AP and Reuters should be our goals. We've captured the internet and are letting Fox work the television. We need the print media now.
