I said what I said, which was that Matthews self immolated. You should have more faith in the American voter to discern BS when it is presented to them. Somehow we elected Reagan and Bush Sr. and some others, when Dan Rather et al had a near monopoly. And we will do just fine as voters in general now, in fact even better, because the way the Internet works, and the multiple media sources work, it is rather more difficult to not get called on lies, bias, etc. I'm think things are grand in the media department. The First Amendment is more secure than ever. America just keeps getting better and better.

And Clinton was elected twice, even after soliciting BJ's in the oval office from a 21 year old intern, committing perjury and obstruction of justice. Reagan got in when John Anderson split the dem vote and Bush1 lost re-election with the constant "It's the economy Stupid" and "He lied about raising taxes" drumbeat from the media. How soon we forget.

Torie, I think you're exactly right. I've been listening to various radio shows the past couple of weeks, on the web. Programs I haven't listened to before.

And have been struck with the plain common sense of some of the callers. People just get it. They somehow are just getting it.

In fact, I thought I was listening to people who were aficionados of FR, but they may just have been regular ordinary people, who know BS when they hear it.
