PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup Poll shows a slight improvement in President George W. Bush's overall job approval rating, while the presidential contest remains essentially unchanged. In a two-way contest with Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, Bush enjoys a slight lead among likely voters, 50% to 47%, little changed from the 51% to 47% lead he enjoyed in a July 30-Aug. 1 poll.

(vol.) Volunteered response |
The reason is that Bush was letting Kerry get away with doing all the talking...
Now that the President is fighting back.. The President America has grown to love (and hate) is back... And that's reason enough to cheer!
Does anyone here have a link to the animated Snoopy happy dance? I want to post it at some lib sites when Bush wins.
Just wait until after the debates! Kerry may as well drop out and save himself the trouble.
This is good news. I expect an improvement in the job approval numbers after the GOP Convention next month. President Bush will probably have a 54 to 55% approval rating by October and he will win by the same margin in November.
I hope you get a chance to use it. This campaign is making me nervous.
Bush improved a point in the registered voters but lost the same amount in the likely voters. Weird.
Liberal handmaiden John King with the Kerry campaign on CNN reported this morning that Kerry has opened up a 10-point lead and that the Kerry advisers are determined to coast to victory.
Really, John?
Have these idiots ever considered that at this time in 1988 former President Bush was 17 points behind Michael Dukakis?
The assault on the Kerry record hasn't even begun yet. These reporters are a laugh a minute.
Yes but the trend is our friend!
They're overconfident. Let them be. We'll see who is ahead in October.
10 point lead in what?
What poll was he quoting? (John King)
Excellent! Thanks.
And these pretzels are making me thirsty. :^)
W. will win, my friend. Take it to the bank.
I got a hugh laugh yesterday hearing the President tell about Kerry's disaproval of Yucca Mt. nuke fuel repository, then mentioning he voted for it several times.
Are there any Union members here? I just read the AFL-CIO voter pamphlet and it's a thinly disguised Kerry for President Ad. There's no mention of Kerry voting againt ANWR drilling, and no mention of him abandoning labor on Nafta and China trade. Is there anything that can be done about this?
That will all change, starting with the GOP convention.
And Kerry talked himself into a corner, while Bush stepped aside.
YOU know that this YUCCA mountain thing has already had millions of dollars poured into it for years now, nobody on the federal level had too much to say about it, and most people here in NEVADA just dont care ,it will bring money into this state ,kerry and reid are both two phonies.
