The GOP should at least try to make an issue of the role of courts, and frame it as a matter of self governance versus being ruled by the type of activist judges the Dems would appoint.

Self-government versus judiical rule.

Just the "Evangelical Christians" alone, who are of voting age, were to register to vote and vote, it would be a landslide for Bush.

If you were to add to that the pro-life Catholics, it would be no contest in any state of the Union for the Democrats...even dog-catcher.

It is alarming the number of Christians that did not vote in 2000 and 2002. In the 2000 presidential election, only one out of three 18-to-24 year olds voted. And a mere 45 percent of them have even bothered to register.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

From a CBN.com article regarding the effort to get Christians to vote:

The biggest bloc of voters for George W. Bush in 2000 were Evangelical Christians. About 40 percent of his vote came from this group of believers.

And yet some four to six million Evangelicals who would likely have been Bush-voters didn't even bother to show up Election Day. If they had, Bush would have won by a landslide at the polls, rather than having to secure the presidency by a 5-to-4 vote at the Supreme Court.

What's surprising is that the biggest bloc of Evangelicals on Election Day, 2000 were the non-voters, which came in as a majority: 52 percent.

Even among those Evangelicals who label themselves Republicans, one-third didn't vote. The last group of Americans to receive the right to vote were 18-to-21 year olds in the year 1971. When they had their first chance to exercise that right, the 1972 presidential election, only 50 percent voted. And that number's been shrinking ever since.

In the 2000 presidential election, only one out of three 18-to-24 year olds voted. And a mere 45 percent of them have even bothered to register.

Yet each vote in these days of a country divided almost exactly 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats could make a crucial difference.

Remember Florida? That key state finally gave George W. Bush his victory by just 527 votes. That is why groups on both sides of the political divide are doing all they can to register as many voters as they can in the next few months, and why they'll spend tens of millions of dollars to get their partisans to the polls, come November 2nd.

Dr. Randy Brinson is the spokesman for RTV, or "Redeem the Vote," a national voter registration movement. RTV was organized to encourage America's youth to vote, by showing them how relevant their vote is to their future and to the future of America. Gordon Robertson spoke with Dr. Brinson to find out further details of this campaign.

------------------------------------------------

We must hope that it is different this November.

While I'm anticipating Round Two of the FMA, I'm also keeping an eye on HR 3313, which passed the House last month. HR 3313 strengthens DOMA, and essentially makes it so a judge can't declare DOMA unconstitutional. HR 3313 is advantageous for us, as it makes it "a state issue", which is what a lot of the Dem Senators and RINO's were saying in their opposition to the FMA.

Make no mistake about it...this IS THE ISSUE that has woken up Christians and forced them to get involved. The more attacks that traditional marriage suffers, the more Christians will get involved.

Sodomite Activists don't realize that what they're doing is only going to destroy their cause. I've had people tell me, "It wasn't any of my business until THEY MADE IT my business!"

God is Good - and all things will work out according to His timeframe, not ours. We need to keep the fires burning, keep the people interested, keep spreading the word, keep speaking the Truth...and most of all, pray.
