"The Bush-Cheney campaign does not and has not ever questioned John Kerry's patriotism," Schmitt said.

It is about time that they did.

They've got three months left to get down and dirty. There's no rush.

I think it's prudent of them to stay above the fray until we're down to the wire, and let everyone else handle the mud-wrestling in the meantime.

If the President questions his service, this will move from a question of the Truth to politics. It will blunt the effectiveness of the non partison mission these veterans have. It will be deemed political by the reality he is the President.

Maybe circumstances will arise down the road that make that questioning warranted from the President, but from my vantage point at this time it serves him best to stay out of this.

They can question his actions after the war. They can questions his Senate record. The Vets are the most qualified to speak about His service in 'Nam.

There is no patriotism to question.

Oh he was patriotic, all right, for any country opposing the US of A.

In the beginning, I merely didn't like Kerry; the more I learn about him the more I detest the man.

They have Hannity, Limbaugh, Newsmax, Drudge, Swifties, O'Grady and countless others to do that. Seriously, the President can only benefit by passing the trash off to the propagandists while he appears more Presidential to the undecided public. I strongly believe the President needs to appear above-the-fray and leave the dirty work to others. We are doing a hell of a job with it this season.

They have to be hit with a constant barage of things. The Swifties are the first, the POW/MIA need to start clamoring. Do a google search and see what I mean.

President Bush does not have to question John Kerry's patriotism .. Kerry's doing a very good job all by himself.

I agree. But I have no problem with the Bush admin playing good cop as long as there is an army of bad cops out there attacking Kerry. The spineless Republicans in Congress should be doing the dirty work and attacking Kerry's patriotism head-on and calling him a liar and a traitor and providing facts as to why they believe that. The attacks should be calm and factual.

This is exactly the cowardly GOP's problem, and always has been.

Here John Kerry is a walking, talking hanging curve ready to be belted for a grand slam; a traitor if EVER there was one.

Just WHO instructed Tracey Schmitt to say ANYTHING at all?
