I have always like Hutchenson and Issa. After their performance over the last thirty days, each of them needs to be booted as far from public office as possible.

I wouldn't buy a used car from Asa. He's a lying son of a b---h. Issa states that the US Constitution prevents sweeps, then completely ignores that when he swore and oath to uphold the constitution of the US, that included the part that says the states "MUST BE DEFENDED AGAINST INVASION."

I'm tired of the downright falsehood, the spinning, the insults to the intelligence of US Citizens. These men are scarad s--tless that citizens of Mexico might get angry, but don't give a damn that US citizens are furious.

Screw these two bastards! Their both placing foreign concerns over the concerns of the US. I don't care for that too much. It disqualifies them from holding public office.

Dream on, nobody cares because the bigger issue is the country of Mexico and that it could collapse without the trickling of American monies to their land.

I have a strong feeling we are going to be hit again BIG TIME by terrorists and at that time, the people will rise up and take action if the government won't.

I'm surprised with all the frustration in California, that illegals aren't hurt daily by fed up citizens.
I think if this issue is left to fester by the government, that you could see the public at large get nasty.

I'd rather the government not bring the public at large to the boiling point.

Why are they so afraid or unwilling to do their job?
We need the space for legals here in CA anyway, so if the illegals are sent away, there is no down side.

I'm hearing it and the politicians sound apathetic.

I'm surprised the crowd didn't throw those two out on a rail.

Heard parts of the replay, the spin coming from both and wrapping themselves in the Constitution was obvious. The crowd was REALLY angry. They weren't buying it.

Issa states that the US Constitution prevents sweeps,

Where in the Constitution? He didn't see fit to divulge where he found that, did he? Because he couldn't!

Asa is a tool and he knows it. You can see it in his eyes

All I see is "whaaaaaaaaaat?" Why are you Republicans so irrate? Don't you see the 'R' in front of my name? Lets all sit down and bash the New York Times.

I have no problem with doing everything we can to defend the borders (and we aren't doing anywhere near enough).

I just don't like tying that effort into bringing ANY troops back from Iraq. They are doing an extremely vital job there. Bringing some back just weakens the effort there.

Besides until things change here, they wouldn't do any good. There are some legal issues that need to be handled re using troops within the US. And we would have to get enough popular support to overcome the Liberals screaming objections and attempts to block them being used.

At any rate, there are lots of people still in the military, who are not in Iraq, that could be used if we could overcome the other problems.

"Fighting over there" is not a vague concept. The best defense is a good offense. There is NO way to defend against all possible attacks. We MUST keep the enemy rocked back on their heels by hitting them constantly everywhere we can. If we ONLY try to defend here, we lose.

I don't appreciate Issa's arrogant tone, his condecension in explaining the Constitution, when we all know one of the very few things explicitly referred to in it is defending a state that has ratified it and joined the Union from invasion.

Asa is just defending the undefendable, I guess that is another way to say he's a lying SOB come to think of it...OK you're right. Lets hope when Hutchinson goes back to the Beltway and cries on Rove's shoulder something gets done.

Then Dreier will be crying on Rove's shoulder after the election.

To: television is just wrong

They are saying it was a mob of over a 1,000 people. Listening to this audio clearly depicts the anger of the people.

Sounds like a mob, doesn't it?

They are lucky some in the crowd didn't get violent. We are listening now. I wonder how much longer they can keep the people from standing up and chasing them back into their limos.

Because it is better to fight in THEIR neighborhood, than in ours.

Hogwash. Many are fighting in their neighborhoods, and have been for years. Ever been to any border towns? Ever seen the brutal crime committed by thousands of illegals?

All I needed to hear is Asa's "compassion" for "interrupting the lives" of the illegals who might be afraid of being picked up. I hope you do your own report of the event.

Of course he is, and that crowd today knew it all to well.

Wonder how much longer these politicos can keep the peasants from kicking down their gates. In the audio they are playing, that crowd didn't believe hardly a word they said, and they let them know it.

The future is going to get ugly for these lying government hacks. Today was just a little preview.

I don't know if that is true, after all they're getting the pleasure of sitting around in 135 degree heat and wait for Sadr put his hands up (which will never happen.)

Besides until things change here, they wouldn't do any good. There are some legal issues that need to be handled re using troops within the US.

Which are what exactly? I'm confused, hasn't the aspect of the US Constitution been reference enough on this thread?

And we would have to get enough popular support to overcome the Liberals screaming objections and attempts to block them being used.

Ah yes, the big bad liberals. J&K has helped me realize something on this topic, that is kind of a boogie man GOP pols throw around to justify their innaction. They control the Executive, House, Senate, and CA Gov. If they wanted something, the Dems would have to go pound some sand. After all, the aforemention Iraq was done against the wishes of the liberals, and they were REALLY mad about that. I know many many liberals who are as hot and bothered about illegal immigration as ANYONE on FR.

"Fighting over there" is not a vague concept. The best defense is a good offense.

Yes its vague, and you prove it by following it up with the old football saying, was it a good offense for Farida Goolam Mohamed Ahmed? She is an Al Quada terrorist who's gone over our border at least once caught in Texas, exactly what in Iraq did the troops there prevent? For the GOP's sake, we better be on our knees every night praying to God there isn't a terrorist attack here caused by people who jumped the Mexican border. Bush better be too.

There is NO way to defend against all possible attacks. We MUST keep the enemy rocked back on their heels by hitting them constantly everywhere we can.

You are fighting the last war. This is not the Soviet military rolling over the plains of Germany. These guys are seperated, franchised. They are about as dependent on the terrorist in Iraq as I am on the illegal at Home Depot collecting welfare. To say we can't defend everything is a terrible excuse. We should be doing absolutely everything. That should be the top priority. When a dirty bomb goes off in LA everyone will say "we should have done more"

If we ONLY try to defend there, we lose.

WORSE than pathetic! LOL. Asa's saying it's "up to the schools" regarding admission policy, in answer to overburned of schools due to illegals and their children. Californians tried with 187 and that was shot down as unconstituational. BWHAHAHA. He's an IDIOT!

And bringing troops back from Iraq (the original statement that I was replying to), would do exactly what to help this situation.

The answer is - exactly nothing.

Until our government policies are changed, until we get enough of the population supporting using strong measures on the borders, until we can stop the Liberals from screaming whenever we try to do ANYTHING useful, it would be a total waste to just bring troops (of any number) back from Iraq.

The interesting lesson is that just TWELVE Border Patrol agents that decided to be aggressive and effective, caused quite an effect. Lets take the handcuffs off our own Border Patrol people. Lets set a strong national policy of protecting the borders. Lets double or triple the manning of the Border Patrol. Lets invest in more technology like the UAV's to patrol the border - Yes.

These things can have tremendous effects, but just a knee jerk - bring troops back from Iraq, is stupid.
