[snip]"When I finally dared to reject Governor McGreevey's advances, the retaliatory actions taken by him and members of his administration were nothing short of abuse and intimidation."
Cipel's charges that he was being hit with a smear campaign came after aides to McGreevey accused him of trying to extort $5 million from the governor by threatening to go public.
A frenzy of speculation over whether Cipel would file a lawsuit against McGreevey was quashed when Lowy said "only time will tell" if any legal action would be taken.
But since Cipel left state government on Aug. 14, 2002, the two-year statute of limitations expires today.

You gotta love the New York Post -- today's front page:
To: kattracks
The family is going out of town for the weekend "to come to terms with whatever they want to come to terms with," said George Zoffinger, a close friend of McGreevey's since 1990 and the CEO of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
Zoffinger claimed that he'd had no idea about McGreevey's sexuality and that the governor hadn't even informed his family until Wednesday.
Half of Woodbridge knew. The NJ State Troopers knew. The Trenton press corp knew. But McGreevey's crony and family didn't know.
Why don't I believe that?
To: kattracks
Just an off the wall question:
Is this guy, Cipel, a US Citizen, and concerning the lawsuit, does it matter?

I don't think Cipel's a U.S. citizen (which is one of the reasons the FBI refused to give him a security clearance). I don't know how this could affect his lawsuit.

"Yes, poor rhing, he was totally in the dark until his lawyer explained it all to him."
That's EXACTLY what hubby said!
Ohmighosh, my adopted home state is so distressingly corrupt, I've got to get out of this place. Are we to believe that McGreevy attempted to place "homeland defense" in the care of someone he was chasing around the desk, like out of an old movie?

And McGreevy was supposed to get $5 Million dollars in extortion money from where? Something stinks.
I suppose there's a big letter saying: Dear Mr. McGreevy......Yeh, right!!
Since extortion is a crime, the Gov's lover is in big trouble. Harrassment charges don't go very far if you're an extortionist.

The statement "I'm a sex victim" sure is convenient. He took the taxpayers money to be the QUEER Governors boy toy! I just don't feel very sorry for him.

Their evil not ONLY chips away "at the foundations of our republic"
but of morality, ethics, freedom, truth, and justice, too.
It has been their sick, perverted, and treasonous way.

What is it with these lib/dems? The list continues to grow. If they aren't abandoning the scene of an accident, cheating on their taxes, stealing from the Congressional P.O., or boinking interns (male or female), they're spending their time lying about it. The effects of "moral relativity" the herculean liberal effort to marginalize Christianity, to erase all vestiges of God in schools and public life in order to make our cultural "morally neutral"
Seems liberals felt "unocomfortable" in a morally certain America. I wonder how they feel now (gag)?
