Brinksmanship On Day Of Gov.'s Announcement POSTED: 6:50 PM EDT August 14, 2004 UPDATED: 7:23 PM EDT August 14, 2004

TRENTON, N.J. -- The man who claims Gov. James E. McGreevey sexually harassed him was pushing for a cash settlement right up to the moment the governor decided to announce that he was gay and had an extramarital affair, sources told The Associated Press.

Those demands also included a last-minute push to have McGreevey's administration approve development plans for a private medical college in the state, two administration sources said Saturday.

Both sources, who each spoke on condition of anonymity, are senior members of the administration and familiar with discussions.

Yea, for little return, doing the work of the people selflessly is a b!tch of a "position" to be in.

My thoughts for the Governor....

This story has McGreevey's pawprints all over it. Cipel's lawyer allegedly called demanding $50 million on July 23, but McGreedy's people don't call the FBI until this Thursday, August 12, when the alleged demands were considerably lowered? It doesn't pass the smell test.

N.J. GOP: Governor should quit now
Asbury Park Press 8/14/04

TRENTON -- Republicans, angry that Gov. McGreevey once hired his gay lover for a $110,000 state homeland security post, demanded yesterday that the governor quit now, not in November, as he said he would in admitting Thursday he is a long-troubled homosexual.

McGreevey plans to resign Nov. 15 -- a delay sought Thursday by the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, according to a Democratic source. The campaign contacted the Governor's Office and asked McGreevey to hold off on resigning, according to the source, fearing such a disruption would shift campaign funds and focus away from Kerry's race and into a contest for governor on Nov. 2.

"The Kerry campaign asked him to stay on until after the election because they need to have consistency until after the (presidential) election," the Democratic source said.

The ink isn't even dry on the resignation letter before McGreevey the perp is transformed into McGreevey the victim.

McGreevey plans to resign Nov. 15 Why not right now?

Governor McGreevey, you deceived us and lied to us. You used your power to keep a Concubine loyal to you.

And when it became clear that you couldn't continue to cheat and lie you decided to declare your self a GAY AMERICAN who has been upset his whole life because he couldn't let the world know his sexual preference.

From your track record you have shown that you have no scruples, no principals and no Core Values!

So you will stay on as a lame duck to allow the rest of your party to deny us an election to sweep them from power.

Sad so Sad!

Above inserted because the democrat's think everything that doesn't agree with the is Sad so Sad!

Kerry may be in for a big surprise. The entire scenario so carefully crafted by the Dims is backfiring bigtime.

McGay and the NJ Dims bet the farm on "victimization" .....gay victimization. They calculated that after the announcement, McGarbage would be enshrined forever as a put-upon victim of Bible-spouting right-wingers and the VRWC, and that maybe he might even be asked to remain in office by "open-minded" (gag) liberals.

However, this strategy is backfiring bigtime. Sources say nearly all NJ newspaper editorials are saying McG is corrupt and untruthful and are calling for McGarbage to vacate the office now.......no waiting til Nov.

The statehouse is said to be inundated with phone calls demanding McSlimey vacate the office at once.

Even more shocking to the party honchos is that a lot of rank and file Dims also want McSlimey out now and are saying they will not vote another Dim back into the statehouse. That might include Kerry as well.

Even more damaging info is yet to be unveiled.

One shocker is that the governor schemed to use tax dollars as Cipel's hush money. Some have pointed out there are a number of items in the state budget that are labeled "unspecified." This after McG unconstitutionally borrowed an extra billion to balance the budget (which the NJ Supremes said was OK but just this once).

The Feds are said to be investigating a number of other charges about the so-called extortion attempt by Cipel and McPoofer's part in it.

McGrabby kept making a point of saying "We notified the FBI" about Cipel's extortion attempt.

He screwed up b/c that sounded awfully suspicious.

McGay's admission that he called the FBI was so transparent. It was meant to coverup his illegal acitivities by creating a shield from which he could lob shots at Cipel.

Lying to the FBI is not like lying to the voters.

Looks like McGarbage and his honchos confused the two.

McGreevey should move out to San Francisco. He'd fit right in with the Newsom bunch. Might even succeed him as mayor. He's corrupt enough, "progressive" enough and homo enough.

Yep. And according to today's New York Times, McGreevey said the reason his resignation doesn't take effect for three months is because it wouldn't be fair to uproot his wife and child from the governor's mansion so quickly. Isn't that rich?

I hope the movement to kick McGreevy's arse outta the Governor's house and set up an ELECTION would be great.

Funny, isn't it ? The DemocRATS are STILL whining and talking about the LIE that Bush was SELECTED not ELECTED, but are EVER SO ANXIOUS to install THEIR party via SELECTION in this case. What LYING HYPOCRITES !!

Go get 'em, New Joizey GOP !!!
