John Kerry's Bad Record Argues Against His Candidacy (Five strong reasons to vote for Bush)
The Mobile [AL] Register ^ | August 18, 2004 | Quin Hillyer

Let's get straight to the point. From the public record, the top five reasons (from least to most important) to dislike, distrust the judgment of, and disdain the politics of, U.S. Sen. John Kerry:

• He's compassionate only with other people's money.

One of the most annoying habits of liberals is their use of the word "compassion" to talk about using the power of government to confis cate one man's earnings for the (supposed) benefit of another. One would expect, however, that a truly compassionate person would voluntarily part with some of his own riches.

Courtesy of Noemie Emery of The Weekly Standard, here's the documented record of Mr. Kerry's generosity: In the six-year span between marriages to women each worth hundreds of millions of dollars (during which Mr. Kerry clearly had no good reason to build up personal debt), this tribune of the people, this voice for the poor, donated a whopping $4,869 to charity.

That word "whopping" is sarcastic. I know people who give more than that each year, while earning far less than he did. What Kerry gave amounted to well under 1 percent of his Senate salary, for those years combined, of $724,042.

One year he gave nothing at all to charity. Another year he donated a pathetic $175, while at the same time treating himself to an Italian-made mountain bike costing $8,600.

Some compassion.

Once again. This election for the left IS NOT ABOUT ELECTING JOHN KERRY!!! It is their hate of George W. Bush that is driving this train. Nothing else. They would elect anyone, anything, anytime, just to beat Bush. They don't give a rat's rear quarters who beats him, just as long as BUSH IS NOT IN THE WHITE HOUSE. It has nothing, absolutely nothing else to do with anything except defeating Bush. And, it is driven by their hate of him. Nothing else. Pure, unadulterated HATE!

Thanks for the post. Here's a bit of my e-mail to him:

"Those should be grist for another column -- although it could be argued that John Kerry's candidacy isn't worth the ink."

Great summation. Great article. If you do decide to invest some more ink, you may want to expose his plans for funding grandiose promises by employing nothing but class warfare on the working rich. Note that he isn't much into seizing accumulated wealth - yet.

Wish I were an artist. I would draw a large cowboy hat with a pair of expensive ski boots peaking out from under it. A cow would be looking down on it with a puzzled look on her face. The caption would read' "John Kerry, all hat and no cows."

As the adage goes: You can't best something (Bush) with nothing (Kerry).
