Gas theft attempt ignites explosion
Hialeah, FL, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Authorities in Hialeah, Fla., said an attempt to steal hundreds of gallons of gasoline resulted in a spectacular explosion at a gas station.
They said they were questioning an unidentified man was rushed to a hospital with serious burns in the hours after the blast, The Miami Herald reported Wednesday.
A witness said he saw a man who was on fire run away from the blaze. About a half hour after the explosions emergency operators received a call about a badly burned man and he was airlifted to a hospital.
Louie Fernandez, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue Department, said investigators found a 300-gallon fuel container under the seats of the burned out van.

LOL! Think of the range you'd have with a 300 gallon tank though!

Gasoline is lighter than water, averaging about 6.2 pounds per gallon. Three hundred gallons would weigh 1860 pounds.

I figured it wasn`t that far off from water. 1860 pounds is still quite a bit of weight. Weight that was probably shifting quite a bit when he drove down the road.
