Embraced on the Xcel Energy Center stage by St. Paul's highest-profile Democrat, Mayor Randy Kelly, President Bush on Wednesday extolled his accomplishments in office and vowed never to back down from terrorists.

"I will never relent in defending America. Whatever it takes," Bush told an estimated 15,000 supporters who waited in long lines to see him on his third visit to Minnesota in just over a month. "You don't create terrorists by fighting back. We defeat terrorists by fighting back."

The crowd at Xcel Center cheered enthusiastically as Bush's motorcoach entered the arena.

Despite the view of many on this site, I believe Minnesota is strongly in play.

I was there!

The place was absolutly Rocking!

They say 15,000 but I know the campaign gave out 20-22,000 tickets and the place was pretty full.

When the buses pulled in and The president got out of the Bus it was deafening. Randy Kelly had to ask about 3 times for it to get quite during a standing ovation that lasted a good 5-10 min.

I think this crowd was way way louder than when Metallica was here on Monday.

We are going to win this state! I'm telling you!

The standing ovation Bush received was absolutely beyond description. Here is a very bried video clip (sorry if it takes a while to load...that is why it is so short) but it does NOT do justice to the actual welcome Bush received. The crowd was wild!

So what effect did Mayor's endorsement have, in your opinion? Will he bring votes with him?

I agree that there were more people there. I think we could get a count from the Republican Headquarters.

Here is another longer clip of Bush exiting the bus and walking up the ramp.

The Mayor gave a great presentation at the event! He said he is getting a lot of support from other dems who also believe it is time to stay the course and support the President!

I think there is a very good chance Bush could take Minnesota, and even a better odds that Wisconsin will end up going for Bush.

We must get this news out so people understand who important it is to get the vote out! The media wants to create apathy! We can't let them do that! The crowd enthusiasm just can't be expressed adequately.

Even when Bush was leaving the people stood spellbound in the crowd and were very slow to actually leave the arena. It was awesome.

Used to think that for MI, but the battle gets more uphill here all the time...but Miracles can happen! Looks like a really jazzed crowd in St Paul.

There is just no way to adequately translate the enthusiasm in that crowd to writing. It was simply AWESOME!

Talk about brilliant stagecraft. Having Bush's bus ride into the venue. That's drama.

I really don't think it matters. Might mean alot to Kelly's future, but I dont' think it's going to get many swing democrats in St. Paul.

He'll never take what is left of the Iron Range. Nor will the DFL ever let go of any of the farming communities south of Faribault. My wife's grandfather once opined that he was such a staunch DFL'er that he woulda voted for Hitler if he had run on their ticket.

Must be too much cow pi$$ in the water down there.

Of course, now that some of the old guard is dying off and their kids are having to deal with 55% estate taxes, maybe that'll change some of their minds. I hear Pawlenty has been doing some good things up there as well.

Keep it up guys, 'cause I'm moving back up there this fall.

I saw the President at a rally several weeks ago in St. Louis. The love for the President from his supporters is just overwhelming to witness.
