In all honesty, I couldn't recall my exact words when I wrote the report this morning. I just reviewed the tape and my actual response was at first, silence. Then after he asked again, I said "yes, I did. I did what I had to do because I was in a war! I served my country and I am DAMN PROUD of that."

I really was shocked when he asked me that question at first. No one I know who has been there, knows that is a question you don't ask out of respect. When he asked it, I went into a state of shock for maybe 30 seconds or so. It took a long time to not think about those days, and it's not something I have contemplated for many, many years. This was a real knife in my heart, because I am thinking about it all over again. I should have slugged the bastard after it was over.

We're proud of you guys. Sandusky has read Sal Alinksy's book about quieting dissenters. Alinsky is one of #97s mentors. Of course Del (with the tired vest) could have answered that he fired at insurgents, without saying he shot anyone. The next time someone asks a similar question, remember...do not be surprised or shocked. We'll be facing similar people in the coming days...they are trained...we just want the truth to come out.
