Meanwhile, some Seattleites may be enjoying another benefit of I-75 — less paranoia.
It's deja vu all over again.

Good deal. People should be free to smoke pot. That's what freedom's all about.

If people want to ruin their lives smoking pot all day, that's their business. As long as they don't go on welfare. If people want to go on welfare & use my money -- they should be required to take weekly drug tests & get the Norplant too.

And, businesses should be able to discriminate, admininister urine tests, and etc. as well, in hiring people who are 100% sober, if they like.

That is what freedom is all about -- making choices, on your own -- without imposing costs (such as driving drunk/stoned) ON others.

You Go, Seattle, Wash.!

Surprise. People didn't start to die from "pot overdoses" [fictional] anymore than shootouts at high noon began occurring after the concealed carry bills were passed.

Carr voiced a similar concern, worrying that high-school students would misunderstand the measure, think pot was entirely legal and smoke it in public. But that hasn't happened, he acknowledged.

"I'm glad I was wrong," he said. "There is nothing to suggest I-75 has caused widespread use of marijuana in Seattle."

Kudos to Mr. Carr. It's unfortunately rare that anyone admits to being overly negative with regard to marijuana.
