From a poster at the Swiftvets BBS:
If you miss it on TV, it should be available later tonight (Thursday night) at http://www.pbs.org/newshour/video/index.html or simply http://www.pbs.org/newshour/ .
Their reports are almost always available in both video and transcript form at no charge.
Also, O'Neill's interlocutor tonight, Tom Oliphant, is a honorable man, though I suspect it'll seem to many of us that he's from a different planet tonight.
It's amazing and fascinating to me how choosing to trust Kerry or choosing to trust the Swift Vets (the choice the evidence prima facie requires, in my view) leads to a sort of domino effect that can lead people very sincerely to embrace such wholly contrary opinions of the whole political situation. Oliphant likely sees the dominos falling in the other direction, but he's an honest gentleman (I believe).
This should be an excellent discussion.

Kerry's crew made a big mistake by bringing up the citation. It is almost as if the Swifties expected it. The response was perfect. O'Neill will quickly take the focus off the content of the citation and onto the authorship. Shines a little more light on Kerry's self serving nature.

Oliphant is a Major League Kerry Rump Swab.
Look for him to try to talk over O'Neill or keep interrupting with irelevant crap, like the rich Texan.

Oliphant not like to be a raving madman such as Begala, or Lanny Davis for that matter.
Hopefully, he will have read the book.

The tide has turned with this battle. Listening to JFK denials on the radio, all I could think was that he's just giving the whole subject ever more attention. He is in a no-win situation - ignore it, and it grows; deny it, and it gets more airtime.
Strategery, indeed!

Oliphant is having a hard time listening to O'Neill.

Summary:
O'Neill got plenty of time, with Oliphant getting brief rebuttals, and letting O'neill talk.
Oliphant came across as slimy, arrogant, and squirmy. His main theme was that this is "tabloid" material because the swift vets have not met any minimal standard of proof or accuracy. (Lehrer zinged Oliphant when he reminded him that "it's not just in the tabloids any more; we're covering it because Kerry addressed it.")
Oliphant's only points were:
1. Why didn't they raise the issue at the time? Waiting until now shows it's political.
2. It is politically motivated, given O'Neill's past Nixon connections, and the Republican funding.
3. Thurlow's account disagrees with the citation of his own medal.
O'Neill swatted all these away conclusively, even when Oliphant started regurgitating the dismissed Thurlow matter.
O'Neill was cool, calm, clear, unflappable, and seemed not the least emotionally motivated. Like he was content to get out the facts, and let the chips fall where they may.
The best moment was when Lehrer asked O'Neill "are you saying that Kerry had some kind of a craven [that was the word he used] plan to get medals that he would not have deserved?" O'Neill unflincningly replied "Absolutely" and explained.

I know a lot of people who watch the news hour including myself since I have no cable or satellite service. This will be big. They will see that he is no shill for Bush, and a decent man.

From the SBVfT BBS ... this bears repeating:
Oliphant tried to brand all the Kerry lied stories as "Tabloid Journalism", but Lehrer himself squelched him on that -- Lehrer" "It's not in the tabloids now -- it's on this show!"
