Like everything he does and says, the whole thing is so phony. Obviously, the whole deal about climbing up onto the registration desk was planned in advance, and designed to give the impression that a huge crowd of people made such a move necessary so that Kerry could be seen by everyone.

The TV station estimated the crowd in the hotel lobby at... one hundred.

I'm guessing that a lot of the published tight shots of Kerry are because the crowds are so much smaller than the turnouts President Bush gets. Kerry Camp doesn't want wide shots of...100 or so...when Pres. Bush gets crowds at his appearances.

Another photo trick, I have noticed to cover the small number in the audience of Kerry Supporters, is having pro Kerry posters in the forefront of the photo to cover the absence of supporters.

That's a Buddhist/Hindu greeting and completely fake phony, too precious in this context. Also a signal to lot of young "hip" people that he's cool and worth voting for even though they were Dean and Kucinich supporters
