You know, Kerry is always claiming that he has shrapnel still in his thigh. If that's true, then he should have problems going through metal detectors.

We used metal detectors all the time at the prison I worked at. If an inmate even had a stick of gum wrapped in aluminum in his pocket, it would set the machine off. I'd like to know if Kerry has to be checked with a hand scanner because his scrapnel sets off the detectors. I'm assuming that since 9/11, the metal detectors at the airports have been set to a higher sensitivity in order to catch weapons. Thus it would stand to reason that Kerry wouldn't be able to be processed normally through a detector.

Just saw the coverage of Kerry's appearance on the local Charlotte news on WJZY. The videotape of him hopping up onto the registration desk at the Westin Hotel, butt first, and then struggling to his feet, was even dorkier looking than the still pics, if that's possible. Let's just say there was nothing spontaneous about this trick.

Of course, he had to scramble up onto the desk so he could be seen by the vast throng of admirers, right? The TV station estimated the crowd in the hotel lobby at... one hundred.

I did not see the footage of Kerry hopping up on the hotel registration desk, but I bet it was something of a struggle. I did see this pic of Kerry a few days ago, that showed him having a bit of trouble manuvering and needing assistance from those around him.
