We got a good laugh at his attempt at TQM (Total Quality Management) or as we called it To Quote McPeak. Everybody is a customer and underlings are very important with their input and problem solving. Maybe if we were bombed into oblivion and had no other options to build an industrial nation we would have been as successful as the Japanese with TQM. In my unit it was a joke.

Lets be honest about McPeak...his rein of leadership was the darkest and most comical period of the last 30 years in the Air Force. By the time he left, he was a joke throughout the entire organization. Whatever he says today....will change tomorrow. The only absolute thing you could depend upon when this guy showed up...was change. Any change...was authorized...no matter how stupid or how short-sighted. He opened the front door and has bred hundreds of little McPeaks now...whose whole career is based on how fast they can change things.

As for what he gets out of this deal...it can only be a special advisor job or secretary of defense. If he becomes the secretary of defense...prepare for at least 20 generals to retire during the first year of the Kerry legacy (four short years). McPeak will become a bigger joke than before. And the entire military will suffer because of him.
