ANTI-GUN types will be horrified to know that the Manchester Firing Line Range now offers ladies night from 5 to 8 p.m. every Sunday. The rest of us should be thankful.Oh yeah, its empowering, Pamela Ganem of Exeter said of her experience firing a pistol at the range. She chose the correct word. Firearms empower the weak, which is why women who carry firearms reduce their chances of being victimized.
The past year has seen a terrible spate of crimes against women in Manchester. Women have been the victims of many rapes, assaults and even murder. It is safe to say that the outcome of many of those incidents would have been different had all those women been armed.
Guns are not evil incarnate. They are merely tools. Like any tool, they can be beneficial in the right hands. That is why we allow police officers to carry them. And that is why this country, so far, has not outlawed them.
Thanks to the Second Amendment, Manchester Firing Line Range probably does a good business during their Sunday evening ladies nights. They also do a public service. They empower women.
Let's hope Ladies Night isn't ruled illegal in a fit of reverse political correctness as what happened in New Jersey with taverns.
I have a private 50ft range on my 20ac nursery & garden center property; they're all welcome here in Penna if PC shuts down the place. All FReepers are welcome! Lots of groundhogs for target practice, too.
I have to say, you post the BEST articles on FreeRepublic! Thanks, and keep up the good work!!
It looks as though women in danger of becoming victims have discovered that the ability to safely carry and use a gun suddenly makes them as powerful as those who would try to rape and murder them..Looks like a deterrent to me.
This is always a good thing. It does seem to be about the only emotion they're capable of, though. That, and self-righteous indignation.
You betcha it is! Way to go Pamela and all the other ladies participating. Kudos and many thanks to the range for making this happen.
Aw, NOW you've gone and done it! *WT gets misty-eyed*
That's how it all started....on a firing range. That led to, eventually, competing in combat matches. But the Jungle Run -- that's what did it.
*WT takes a minute; chokes up*
Mr. Tart, out of all the sheriffs' department guys, was the only one with enough cujones to go on the Jungle Run with me. No wimpy .38 for me, either -- I borrowed my brother's .45 that day. We completed the course, and have been together ever since.
Love at first double-tap....
That is one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever read!
*passes Kleenex over; smiles through tears*
Thanks for the ping.
Becoming a responsibly-trained gun-owner some almost 5 years ago (thanks to .45MAN) was one of the turning points in my life. Having a CCW helped me to cope with living in the "wilds of Atlanta."
Time spent on the range has been very productive in increasing my skills and confidence.
Pings to a few of my gun-toting lady FRiends!
Heh... I guess this is OK.... but I don't go to the range to hang out with other ~wimmin~. Next I'll have to worry about what I wear there.
:~D
And Freeper women with guns are hot!
Wish I had a body like that...never in my 57 years have I looked anything remotely near that. Short and plump..it's in the dna.
Girls with guns ping!
Semper Fi
Gotta make a Walmart tun today...which pistol should I take? The 3",3.5",4", or 5" 1911? Or the 2" .357? Or something in a 4" wheelie? Hmm...the possibilities are almost endless! ;)
BTW, yes, I can do that legally here.
Trust me, neither do I. I go strictly to hone my skills. Guess I should have read a bit further - LOL!
Anything that gets women armed and to the range is a plus - even if it's a bit gimmicky.
((((((HOTD)))))
