Here are some quotes: written by John Kerry (J.K.)
"And so a New Soldier has returned to America, to a nation torn apart by the killing we were asked to do. But, unlike veterans of other wars and some of this one, the New Soldier does not accept the old myths. We will not quickly join those who march on Veterans' Day waving small flags, calling to memory those thousands who died for the "greater glory of the United States." We will not accept the rhetoric. We will not readily join the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars ...."
"I think that, more than anything, the New Soldier is trying to point out how there are two Americas -- the one the speeches are about and the one we really are. Rhetoric has blinded us so much that we are unable to see the realities which exist in this country." ...
"This is not to say that all soldiers have departed Vietnam with the same feelings about their military service. Certainly not all veterans of this war are New Soldiers. Not all want to be or even understand what many of their veteran contemporaries are trying to say."
"But among all [Vietnam Veterans Against the War] there is an intense and deep-rooted agreement that America has lost sight, hopefully only temporarily, of much that we knew as our greatness."

You gotta love how he claims that all other veterans of America's wars were just idiots who mindlessly imbibed the propaganda of the ruling class. In contrast, brilliant John Kerry and the "New Soldiers" are much too clever, brave and noble for that.

People can get
Kerry's real book here,
right now,
online FREE!!
From Kerry's "The New Soldier":
Al Hubbard Sgt., 22 Troop Carrier Squadron Aug. ’65-June ’66
Emotions: Walking down the flight line at Saigon past stacks of aluminum cases containing American bodies and past stacks of aluminum luggage containing American currency. Seeing the tight, sad face of an Airman loading the bodies aboard a dirty Air Force Transport and the wide smiling face of a stewardess greeting the passengers aboard a clean Pan American Clipper Jet. Hearing a Vietnamese beg you to leave his country and an American colonel tells you to bomb his country. Hearing a Vietnamese invite you to live in his home, after the war and an American explain why you can’t live in his block, after the war. Flying over barren, brown, safe American held terrain and over lush, green unsafe enemy terrain. Feeling happy to be leaving a country in which you do not belong and sad to be returning to a country in which you are not allowed to belong. Sacrificing a portion of your consciousness so you won’t have to deal with being there and building mental blocks so you won’t have to deal with having been there.
- Al Hubbard, proven fraud who never set foot in Viet Nam. The only Vietnamese he ever met was when he was collaborating with the North Vietnamese in Paris
on the American Communist Party's nickel.
John Kerry's explanation: "He (Hubbard) simply exaggarated his particular position.
But nobody knew it at the time. And those things happen."

The first part contains Kerry's already well publicized testimony before the Senate committee.
The second part contains quotes and submissions from other VVAW people; really nothing on Kerry.
The third part is the epilogue where the above quotes come from and which I haven't seen widely discussed.

I read this too. I couldn't believe that he actually got up in front of the VFW and praised them. His utter contempt for them is evident in this book. BUT, as usual the the prostitutes in the media didn't do any research. I think this quote should be faxed to every VFW hall in the country.

Give me a break. I am not a "progreswsive". I refuse to believe that this book was 46 pages. Taking stuff out of context is a loser tactc.
Might it be that in PDF format his original book is only 46 pages as opposed to the originals' what? 200+ pages?

Who here is a member of the American Legion? I understand Kerry is going to speak before them next week during the RNC convention (something no other candidate has ever done). Anyway, someone needs to make a flyer with that quote and the web address for the rest of it and hand it out at the AL convention.

What is available in pdf is three parts. The "main part" is 46 pages of pdf, but it does not include any photos.
The quotes in original post here are from 2 pages signed "J.K." (and remember Kerry is listed as the lead author of the book) in the seven page epilogue. Being skeptical is great; then get informed. If, after looking these over, you really doubt the legitimacy of the pdf or of the quotes above; please post again and explain why.
