Survey says whites not majority in Texas anymore

HOUSTON White non-Hispanics are no longer the majority in Texas -- for the first time since the 1800's.

Today's Census Bureau survey says whites stopped being the majority in Texas as of last year.

Also, the numbers show that Texas joined only Illinois and North Carolina in having a poverty rate that measurably increased -- while income decreased -- in 2002-03.

Texas state demographer Steve Murdock says the two trends are related as economic woes have slowed white migration from other states.

Luis Figueroa with the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund says the future of Latinos is the future of Texas, as the population numbers show.

Also:

-- Most of the Texas population expansion since 2000 has come from births and international immigration -- both sources of predominantly Hispanic growth.

-- The black population remained basically flat, at around ten-point-eight percent.

-- Asian-Americans now account for about three percent of the Texas population.

Not surprising, as the border between Texas and Mexico now resemble a Boston Marathon of millions.

Don't bother to remember the Alamo.

After 150 years, Mexico has recaptured part of her lost territory.

He who dares,wins.

More from those whose objective is to Balkanize the USA. White non-hispanics is a nice way to ignore that most Hispanics would identify as white if not forced into the Hispanic option.

I don't have official figures, but I'd almost have to say the same is true for Kalifornia.

John O'Sullivan did an article in National Review a year or so ago that indicated that because of demographics Texas would cease to be Republican in the not too distant future.

Not the majority anywhere else either, for that matter. Note there is legislation moving forward to let illegals draw social Security, after only 8 quarters of work. You on the other hand must have 40 quarters.

Give it 15 more years, and the same will be true for most states.

"does that mean white people get affirmative action?"

I wanted to say that, dang it!

Yes, it does, except affirmative action for the white minority is called, "the purple shaft".

Texas will not fall as long as there are great Americans like Hank Hill and Dale Gribble to defend her!

Is "international immigration" the new pc phrase for illegals?

Translation: The Democrat plan to secure the Texas electoral vote in perpetuity is right on track. The treasonous drunken fat bastard Kennedy's plan to destroy the country -- controlled immigration -- is doing the job. Same for California.

Once they can consistently add California, Texas, Colorado, etc and Florida's electoral vote to the liberal northeast and unionized north-central, they stand to win every federal election for generations. This means unending socialist policy, courts loaded with constitutional de-constructionists, loss of soverignty, and the end of the experiment.

Lenin was only partially right. We will not have sold the rope to be hung with, we will have given it away.

If a white hispanic could not speak spanish then what would be the difference? I know many Central Americans who identify as white more than I do, and the amount of European blood they actually have can only fill a thimble. But I love the way they title the article to gain maximum attention, ignoring the fact that the black population remained flat as well. More diverting attention away from the fact that the border is as porous as swiss cheese.
