Sleepless in Cam Ranh Bay (Concerns about Kerry's Health)
The American Thinker (via Instapundit) ^ | 8/27/2004

The President of the United States holds the most demanding job in the world. The physical and mental fitness of a candidate are matters of legitimate concern for voters. The refusal of John F. Kerry to release his complete medical records should be disconcerting to the press and public. All the more so, given disturbing indications that there may be serious questions about Kerry’s health and his ability to perform in office, questions which could be resolved only by the full release of his medical records.

For ordinary jobs, everyone is entitled to the presumption of physical and mental fitness. The Americans with Disabilities Act forbids negative employment judgments based on all but obviously disabling conditions. But the Presidency is not an ordinary job. The welfare and very survival of all of us are at stake. This employment decision is by popular vote, and we voters are entitled to consider anything and everything.

John F. Kerry is a cancer survivor. Fortunately, his prostate cancer was detected early, and treated with a procedure which claims a 97% rate of positive outcomes. Even though prostate cancer is the second biggest cancer killer of men in the United States, his surgeon, Dr. Patrick Walsh, chief urologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, assures us that there is a 95% chance that he will be cancer free in ten years.

John Kerry faced up to his cancer bravely. His prompt treatment of it is a model for the rest of us to emulate. He even likened it to – what else? -- his Vietnam experience:

I'm not sure if this amounts to anything, but do you think you'll ever see it even mentioned anywhere else?

I don't see surviving cancer as a major issue one way r the other. I'm sure his physical condition will not be an issue.

I DO wonder about his mental health....

You mean, how the media keeps mentioning Dick Cheney's health at every opportunity?

I have not heard it mentioned since he had the surgery.

He was apparently sleepwalking in The Nam. I don't want him sleepwalking in the White House, anywhere near The Nuclear Button.

Even if this was a legit claim, I wouldn't want to have anything to do with it.

The most disgusting thing I ever saw in politics is when Hillary's operatives in 2000 floated the idea to the press and to the voters that it wouldn't be a good idea to elect somebody who might die of prostate cancer while in office.

I did see one of the dem hags discussing the relative merits of Bob Dole's Viagra vs her personal favorite, Cialis. She didn't go into why her men needed the extra strength formula.

Yeah, and vice versa.

I believe Kerry has been successfully treated for cancer... However, he still has to be cancer free for five years before he will be regarded as a survivor or cured...

Cancer wouldn't do as much damage to the population as much as his mental health. I seriously think he has a problem. No joke. I mean seriously.
He lied about everything - from the time he entered Nam until now. He may have before that, but we have no records.
His illusion of grander, and his pathological lying, should send up a HUGE red flag to the voters.
The man needs help, not the presidency to encourage more of the same. He needs a doctor.

You are not listening. I have heard it hundreds of times. Katie Colon even had a special and gave everyone a tour of her bowels in honor of Kerry.

This story is everywhere. Also, haven't you read about his condition in his recently released medical records? Come on, what is it with you people and this negative attack campaign that you are waging against this decorated war hero?

How many Purple Hearts do you have? Did you spend four months in Viet Nam or,god forbid, Christmas in Cambodia? Have you ever commanded a Swift Boat?

Did you know that Kerry served in Viet Nam?

I read an article somewhere on FR that had The-RAY-zuh recounting Kerry's still re-occurring and violent nightmares about his experiences in Vietnam.

I don't think it is the prostate treatment that is the holdup...it's already public knowledge. Likely it's somethiing to do with emotional or mental illness.

Sleepwalkers aren't supposed to be allowed to serve in the Navy. Man overboard in the middle of the night is a pain in the ass. What was Kerry doing in the Navy? Why wasn't he in the Army??
