I seriously doubt this. Al-Queda has neve been shy about claiming credit for such "victories". If they were truly able to bring down another plane just 2 months after 9-11, they would have been shouting it from the rooftops.

Agreed. However, a lot of people here seem to think that every plane crash is caused by terrorism or the USN.

If the airliner crashed to the ground on a perfectly beautiful clear morning simply because it happened to disintegrate in the air, that make of plane would have been grounded all around the world immediately.
To me random reasonless disintegration is a scarier thought than deliberate terrorist acts.

This has been the only American plane to crash since 9/11 and it occurred only a month later before most of the new security measures were put into place
