One telling post-modern post-feminist phenomenon is how difficult it is for men to court women. The previous rituals may have been arbitrary and unfair, but it was easier to know what was expected.
Such an environment is perfect for the shallow aggressive guys, but sensitive men have it tough.
Men who have merely told women that they looked good have been successfully penalized for sexual harassment.
[Because of this, the mating ritual for some is similar to that of the black widow spider. The few males who survive very gingerly approach and get away quickly.] Now where was I?
I have asked women about this and only vague nebulous advice has been in the offing. They seem to have a very clear idea what they DON'T want, but what is wanted seems to be very difficult for women to articulate.
So you have to blunder on and make your own mistakes. Don't worry if you mess up. Let her set the pace. Air out your personality and be genuine. If you disagree, say so [but with courtesy] -- don't patronize. Try and enjoy the moment and don't worry about where something is going.
Old Dale Carnegie was right when he said that it's easier to get people to like you if you get them talking about themselves -- most people's favorite subject. But don't ask nosy questions, just show interest.
I had a friend who was very successful with women -- always several at the same time. His phone conversations with women were very much different than those with men. His side of the conversation was mostly questions like, "what did you do today? So what's on the agenda?" He didn't always ask them out; he would just maintain contact.
OMG this is long. I'm sorry.
I am tired of enduring the left. They have done enough damage.
I am HAPPY you're back here with us.
Please do not permit the Kerry supporters
to depress you. I hate to say this, but
I look at Kerry and ALL of his supporters
as mortal enemies. Kerry is a dangerous
man with a dangerous agenda. I know he wants
to destroy this country, and Kerry loathes the
military even more than Clinton.
I hope someone on this thread will provide
you and the rest of us with a one or two
sentence (pithy) statement we can all use
when we have to address Kerry supporters.
I am too mad to think "pithy." LOL!
I get carried away,...lol ... not that I
have ANY democrats for friends.
Kerry spat on my generation and it took nearly ten years to recover. The left even though they fell over one another during his memorial, hated President Reagan. Without him they would have had it all sown up. Now they are beside themselves because of President Bush. They hate Bush because he is doing the same thing President Reagan did. He is proving them to be lying useless waste. It's their religion and it is being pulled out from under them. I pray there are more like you that see things clearly.
Thanks ;-)
If you find out let me know.
Ah, wish you were in my area. I love being around my own kind. Went to a Dick Cheney rally in early August and it was so nice to hear the conversation around me. Seems like there are plenty of conservatives/Bush supporters out there from the numbers at the rally--I just don't meet any of them.
I never knew that past wounds would be so tender. Kerry has dragged it all up again.
LOL. That is your summer CJ. As for the thread, I feel the same way. Kerry has stirred massive anger. I just turn off the TV as much as possible.
There are people you can discuss these matters with and those who, in spite of being able to name every statistic of every player in the National League or recite 5 soap operas verbatim for the past week, will contend that 'politics is just too complicated' for them.
Yep, some of my friends and relatives tell me that they don't want to discuss "politics", which means they don't want to discuss MY politics or hear MY political views or facts.
Mostly, they don't want to hear any dissent from the warm and fuzzy "feel good" PC platitudes. Some of my close friends tell me that they hate George Bush. I try and ask them what the real issues are and they can't tell me what the substantive issues are except that they hate George Bush because he jes ain't smart enuf.
For me, the issue is the survival of freedom and western civilization. The Muslim Islamofascists want us all dead and will nuke us as soon as they can. The second issue is the fifth columnist treason and stupidity of the leftist traitors and usefull idiots in this country and Europe. The lies and omission of the real news by the so called MSM in this country and the rest of the world is a scandal.
I prefer reality over fantasy.
The left and Hollywood want to destroy this country and freedom. They want to control this country and the world. They collaborate with the Islamofascists. The left's blind hatred of Bush is their weakness. I'm beginning to think that control or at least parity of the media is everything. Is it our weakness that we do not understand this? We must acheive parity of MSM media representation to successfully fight the left to have a chance of winning. Watching Maureen Dowd on Letterman tonight, I was struck by what a lying, yet weak and wishy washy, sneaky, whiny duplicitious passive aggressive whimp she is. How in the world did she and Krugman gain such power with such wussy personas? Conservatives and business must understand and DO SOMETHING about media parity.
Are we cut off here in our own little cocoon? Are we really any more in touch with the great masses of this country or are we just as smug as the "liberals" So many people don't know or care, perhaps as much as we Freepers. We should be cautious and searching.
I may be the only and last remaining conservative artist on earth. It's not easy when all your friends are "liberals".
That's my 2 cents or twelve dollars for tonight. Incidently, I sent the SVT's and the RNC money in the last several weeks. Today I got my copy of UFC at Costco today for $15.79. Bought California wine to go with it. Tom Clancy too.
I hope you find the site. I could use it. But it is helps just knowing there are people like you here.
You are right about an election. This one is critical. If the American people choice poorly, it may get us killed.
