The pubs should have NEVER chosen that FREAK city for their convention....:( They went willingly to the lion's den! As sheep to slaughter...so sad! Pray for our President's and pubs safety there!
They should have had it in the south somewhere, with lots of down-to-earth folks, preferably with a large military population and a Nascar race nearby. That would have kept the freaks away.
The freak city would have travelled.
I share your worry, but if the President was willing to take the fight to terrorists in heart of the Middle East, I can't see his turning tail over some malcontents in NYC. Besides, these protests would happen no matter where the convention was held.
yeah, I agree. They should have had the GOP convention on one of the Florida Keys, and had a real grand ole' party.
Well I guess I should tell you that NYC was my idea. I figured that if the terrorist have a nuke they will target the Republican Convention, and while we would lose a bunch of hard core Republicans, which we would lose anywhere it happened, in NYC we take out millions of dims.
Without NYC the state goes Republican. My only other idea was LA.
Our President is a christian, and sometimes God sends us into the Lions Den (remember Daniel) to show just how powerful GOD is, not the President. I will trust God with President Bush if he picked NYC for a specific reason. I pray that is what happened.
I beg to differ. The demonstrators are not all locals. They would be at the convention wherever it was, including the ones who are from NYC.
At least New York City has competant police with plenty of experience in crowd control.
I know plenty of people in New York City (where I grew up). Most of them are life-long libs, but many will be voting for Bush this time. Following the lead of Ed Koch.
We're talking about people who smelled the burning bodies at ground zero from up to five miles away. Don't assume New York will go for Kerry.
New York went to Reagan in 1984 on less serious issues.
