"Doesn't the Bible say something about the anti-christ changing time?"

Beats me. You opposed to Daylight Savings Time?

There was a beautiful theological logic underlying the March 25 (essentially Vernal Equinox) New Year; Creation, the creation of the New Adam, and Christ's sacrifice for Adam's sin all converging on the same day, and all at the beginning of the annual cycle of life in the Northern Hemisphere.

Maybe the "April fools" who clung to the Julian calendar were wiser after all!

In the Book of Daniel, '...he will think to change times and laws.'

The day has 1440 minutes of sixty seconds. I don't think we'd want to change the length of the minute, but we could use hours of 144 minutes.

Well, that's just a great idea. But I spent over a minute thinking about it, and have come up with the real solution - smartly decouple the length of a day from that old school "one planet turn" thing. My day lengths would continueally adjust with the amount of daylight (longer in the summer, shorter in the winter). With existing watch/chip technology this could easily be iomplemented.
Once this decoupling is done, the skids are greased.

In fact, I would go one step farther and institute "global time" - whereby it's 10:10:10 everywhere in the world at the same time.

I will be submitting my solution to the U.N. tomorrow for humble consideration. One person can make a difference (and in this case, just in time).

Doesn't the Bible say something about the anti-christ changing time?

IMO, this already has been done. The lunar calendar was used when that prophecy was made.

Julian date calendar reform almost pre-dated Christianity.

Yes. Actually, it did pre-date Christianity. So did Julius Caesar. You know, the first JC :-)

Quite a few of them, too.

Orthodox Christians. Russia is full of them.

Thirteen Moon Natural Time Peace Calendar could replace the Gregorian Calendar, courtesy of future UN resolution.

AKA the Global Islamic Calendar

"...One person can make a difference (and in this case, just in time)."

Good one.

We should probably try to look for some Universal constant, not something restricted to our local solar system.

Act Globally, think Universally. Scientists have already considered this. Interstellar communications have been tied to the oscillations of atoms, just like the atomic clocks.

First, they got it wrong - the calander should be based on the metric system, somehow.

Simple -- a 100 day year with each day 10 hours long. Of course it will take some adjustment.

Each metric hour will be 525 current minutes long.

Better hope you're not paid hourly.

I think a 13-month calendar is a non-starter. A 12-month year can be divided evenly into halves, thirds, and quarters...a 13-month year cannot be divided into any smaller units without splitting months.

National Semiconductor used a 13 month calendar way back when I worked for them.

They didn't have months in their corporate calendar, they had 28 day 'Periods' 3 Periods to a quarter, with the extra Period stuffed into quarter 4, where it helped increase the year's bottom line, and offset lost productivity for Christmas shutdown.

It was a great system, for all I know they are still using it.

You just want to come up beside them, smack them on the side of the head and say "Knock it off". Didn't these people have parents?

Why, yes, of course these people have parents - and it may very well be their parents and grandparents who taught them such a "noble" worldview! (They do consider themselves to be our intellectual superiors, while we continue to be The Great Unwashed to their way of thinking. After all, baptism in the Lord Jesus means nothing to these people.) Ah, yes, a return to the good ol' days of "innocent, peaceful, persecuted, long-suffering" paganism! (These are the ones who celebrate Halloween - complete with outdoor house decorations - for one whole month - or longer - prior to October 31! Let us not forget winter solstice!) Now they can have 13 signs of the zodiac instead of 12!
