Drudge-Larry King Refuses to Book Kitty Kelly on Program over 'Outrageous' Accustations in Bush Book
Drudge Report ^ | 8/30/04 | Matt Drudge

Posted on 08/30/2004 6:32:38 AM PDT by gopwinsin04

Anyone else catch some more details on the radio last night about this..(Kitty Kelly's 5 year expose on the Bush dynasty)

I caught the tail end of the discussion with Lucianne Goldberg, has anyone heard what may be in this book?

I thought the more outrageous the claims the more likely the person would end up on LK's show. LOL

I'm shocked that Larry even reads the book excerpts for his guests at this point in his career!

I clicked your link to Drudge and found no mention of Larry King refusing to have Kitty Kelly on to promo her Bush bash book. could you copy/paste the quote?

I don't think they can be too outrageous or they'd've never gottn by the publisher's hot and juicy lawyers. I think this is just hype to sell an otherwise boring book that's doomed to be remaindered shortly after publication.

I don't know of anything recently, but isn't Kitty Kelly the author who accused Bush #41 of having an affair? There was never any proof of that, but it was played all over the major news media. Compare that with how the media have tried to silence the Swift Boat Vets.

Published by Doubleday, and out Sept. 14.

I still think the King non-appearance is a publicity stunt to gin up some interest. Yawn.

Drudge mentioned last night in passing that Jenna's drug use may be in the book, but that was already in Premiere Magazine story last summer with Aston Kutcher..

It was mentioned that Kelly was going after one of the Bush daughters for alleged drug use. The problem with Kelly is that she is so gutter level that no one will take her seriously. Most people are already immune to the attacked on the Bush family, and his popularity among Republicans is not affected. This will backfire on the Democrats, just like the street demonstrations in New York.

If this *itch prints lies about the family, especially about the twins, President Bush AND Laura will fight back, IMO. They are not going to have their daughters trashed by another Republican-hater.

King does what he's told :) This book will be a bore. That's why they need the hype. And if Kelley doesn't appear, she can't disclose that the book had bupkis in it, sensationally speaking, and sales won't be hurt. Until word of mouth relays that info anyway.

Long ago I read that Lerry King has 'readers' who scan tha books and write some questions from him to choose from when he does his interviews. If the writer is a liberal slamming someone like Gingrich he asks probing questions about the subject of the esssay.

If the subject is a liberal or a star he asks questions to let the writer let themselves look like a genious. That's how he gets them to come back.

I'm sure "perky" Katie will be more than happy to interview her. Larry King has Kitty on quite a bit and she is really smarmy, very satisfied with herself.

Thanks for clarifying where this originated, but frankly, I'm skeptical. Not of your reporting, but rather, that Larry King won't let Kitty Kelly on his show. She's been on many times, promoting her books, and her specialty is digging up dirt on the rich and famous.

Kelly's big sellers, are rumor ridden gossip tomes on Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, The Royals (which can't be sold in Great Britain), Nancy Reagan, Frank Sinatra, and now The Bush Family.

If the media, led by Larry King, refuses to promote this obvious election timed hit piece on the Bush family, I'll be thrilled.....and very very surprised!

"Maybe the media leftists are starting to realize the harm they are doing to their cause."

You might possibly be right, but the left is also very pragmatic -- they know that outright lies will result in sympathy for a good man, and will re-elect Bush.

It happened previously. The left howled and screamed and lied about Reagan. Remember Patricia Schroeder, the sweetheart congressman from Colorado? She resorted to some of the worst name-calling of Reagan and got lots of press for it. It wasn't true and all it did was result in Reagan's landslide victory in 1984.

"What were her claims?"

Well, it's hard for a middle-aged guy like me to remember details from 20 years ago, but Schroeder delighted in calling Reagan the "teflon President." They and their media friends also called him a moron and a dunce (sound familiar -- it's been the left's tactic for a long time).

But in general, the left blamed every problem in the USA and the world on Reagan. AIDS (not enough funds to cure it); breast cancer (greedy corporate executives aligned with Reagan); the Cold War (Reagan prolonged it with his military buildup -- the Soviets were really nice curmudgeons when you got to know them); poverty (Reagan lowered tax rates); education (Reagan didn't sign federal legislation giving teachers raises); etc.

Kitti Kelley is the skunk who wrote that malicious book on Frank Sinatra. Even he couldn't legally stop that from being published, which I find hilarious in contrast to John Kerry, who wanted to stop that Swift Vets book from being published with just a letter to the publisher.Don't use any of your money on lawyers John, you dolt. LOL

When is this due out, October?

It's out September 14. Get ready for the front-page Times article on it, like they did with Kitty Kelley's Nancy Reagan book. Maureen Dowd wrote the article/smear about the book's allegation that Nancy Reagan had an affair with Frank Sinatra.

The only people who will care about dirt on the Bush twins are those who are dim and going to vote that way no matter what. I would vote for GW even if his kids were total degenerates because he has shown he has what it takes to lead this country. Besides, sometimes kids just turn out wrong no matter what, look at Ron Reagan Jr and Patty Reagan for example...
