I just saw the last minute of his speech, and heard both McCain and Guilianni, I thought everyone was very attentive, in fact it took some time to get the folks to quiet down.
My husband and I commented about the contrast between the democrat convention and the republican convention, seemed to us that at lesst tonight we seemed more at ease, able to be serous yet have humor, the dems. were like animals wanting to come in for the kill!

He's always been a fabulous actor; now we all know he's a fine human being as well. Please convey our regards and thanks to him.

Principled, honorable democrats are few and far between, a dying breed. Ron Silver is one of them.
He is quite intelligent. I am impressed. Now to go find some of his movies....

My feelings exactly, I kept wondering when they were going to smile. I missed Silver, but my wife commented that he was absolutely terrific. I was generally very impressed with the part of the convention I did see. We were miles ahead of the Democrats. Very impressive indeed, especially Giuliani!
I don't think it is far-fetched that soon we could see the Democratic Party relegated to a fringe party, to be followed by a split in the GOP to create the two major political parties, with the Rat party sent to the ash heap of history. At the rate the Rats are going, it could happen.
I'm sure he had his reasons. He's new at all this...and can you imagine how ugly his brothers are about all this. A Baldwin at the Republican convention supporting a republican president. Baldwin supports Bush because of his belief in God. I'll take up for him a bit...I saw him on 700 club he had a really great testimony.

I told him he's got lots of support.
A guy like Silver would command my attention, respect and confidence during any disagreement over policy simply because I know he'll be on my side if the chips are down.
God lets all hope so!!! The rats have out done they're selves. They're really not part of America any longer. The old Soviet Union is where the RAT party should reside.
There are a-lot of sincere patriots out there. Also, a-lot of party hacks.
I was just reading on some other thread tonight that he went on a year-long fact-finding mission for the CIA, before he became an actor. This guy is something else!
Up to the early 60's you didn't have to question whether or not the Democrats were loyal to this country. Then the hippies hijacked the party in the late 60s and brought it to where it is now. On the verge of becoming a fringe party. I understand the pain Zell Miller must feel. He looks at the Democratic Party, as a parent who sees their own flesh and blood in the throes of drug addiction, so helpless to do anything about it, desperately wanting to save it from oblivion. I many never vote for a Democrat, but a noble opposition party is in the best interests of this country, and the current incarnation of the Democratic Party gave that up years ago.
Ron Silver ripped weenie Ron Reagan a new clymer. Joe got on Ron Reagan's butt when he started talking about supporting Saddam in the 80's. For God sakes, was he about to trash his Dad who just died. This guy is an arrogant jerk. I look at my 14 year old son who is a terrific person, and I sincerely pity Nancy.
