The thing that caught my ears was:

A recent NPR poll shows us up by 4 percent.

Polling NPR is like polling the Democrat party. If Kerry is up only 4 point among his own kind, he's in deep yogurt.

Let's see, Kerry voted to cut the military budget any number of times, including pay, arms, and materiel. He's done great things for vets. Interestingly...just heard GW on Rush say that he senses great things going on in the heartland, the hinterland, that lean toward a victory in Nov.. He spoke about the huge, excited crowds he's seen. Can it be that he's hinting about internal polling numbers that say Kerry's dead as a doornail?

Kerry did one nice thing for veterans -- he ran for president after spending most of his adult life saying his fellow vets were baby killers, rapists, etc, then got his ass kicked in retribution. :') But anyway, this interview is just damage control -- too little, too late, and too off the wall.
