At some point, moral and intelligent journalists (sic) won't put up with that crap and will demand that Kerry defend himself instead of using their partisan reportage as his only safe harbor.

You can be assured that this will happen only AFTER a major decline in the polls for Kerry. They have hung their hat solely on Kerry, but when it becomes obvious that they are discredited, they will do a Benedict Arnold(kerry) on Kerry and ride the wave to sKerry's demise. Don't count on it real soon though.

Did you hear about John Kerry's surprise visit to the Athens Olympics? He only stayed for 40 minutes but left with 6 medals.

Somebody needs to make up a cartoon that depicts this. It would be hilarious.

I just KNEW they put that little bend in the end of the pin for a reason...

Heh! By the way, did they call that web belt rig an LBE back in Cleland's day? That's what they called it in the early '90s when my wife was stationed with the 10th Mountain.

Kerry wouldn't be holding another mass firing of his staff if he thought he'd just hit a tiny little pothole.

I almost...ALMOST...feel sorry for the poor schmucks who will replace them. Imagine coming aboard the good ship Kerry-Edwards right now, assuring your boss you're just the guy to save him from the Swifties, and then you figure out after a week or two that his anti-war activism record makes Che Guevera look like Yankee Doodle. Suck it up, boys and girls!

All he can talk about is Bush's supposed connection to the Swift Boats and dirty tricks.

"Sure, I'm a traitor, but you can't use GOP money to prove I'm a traitor! Unfair! Unfair!"

Presumably that's what he'll try tomorrow at the American Legion...a very tiny apology

I think he will have his tuchis handed to him at the Legion no matter what he says. Everyone there who's read excerpts from the New Soldier or seen the last two Swift Vet ads will be sitting on their hands.

Can't say.

Your WIFE was stationed with the 10th?

Hope I don't run into HER in a dark alley...

(just kidding)

Hopefully American Legion members will walk out, not just turn their backs on Kerry. When you think about what he did to veterans years ago and would do in a heartbeat if he got the chance as President, it's amazing that they'd invite him to speak at all.

>>Cleland didn't lose the limbs in combat, but he has never claimed he did.

But I'll bet he didn't correct Al Gore who mentioned it in his "how-dare-they!" speech last May 26: "...Senator Max Cleland, who lost three limbs in combat during the Vietnam War."

He probably didn't. Good catch.

Cleland loves the lifetime pity party pass from the dems more than anyone could love a medal, so it's all good for him. The reason he's so ornery about this thing with Kerry is that he can't believe the three missing limbs thing didn't cover his stupidity anymore.
