I skimmed it to see if they replied to ANY of the Swifties' charges. I know they have disputed the source of money, etc., but I STILL haven't seen them dispute that the Swifties are telling the truth.
.
'Just keep punching the tar baby, DIMS'. Nicely put. Presumably somebody on Kerry's NEWly hired staff will come to this conclusion and Kerry's surrogates will change the conversation to his strengths: The issues. The SECRET TAX INCREASES he can't talk about until he's elected because his enemies would sabotage them. Presumably he's referring to the Bush campaign and worries that Bush will rush out first and say he's raising taxes. Kerry's worries on that score are groundless.
Okay, issue# 2. His more sensitive war on terror. He'll win the war, not like Bush who only talks about terrorist leaders not ever signing peace treaties. Nonsense. With Kerry's more sensitive war, we won't call it 'war' per se. It's just a misunderstanding we're clearing up by sitting down and asking what our Muslim Islamofascist friends want, and then giving it to them...after first consulting our pals at the UN for permission. Besides, Muslims sign peace treaties all the time. They just have their fingers crossed.
What are you going to do, johnny, when your own gunner challenges you to a polygraph test?
My bad. I've not seen it yet only read about it. Good if they use his own words like in ad #2.
Not a cheap swipe. It actually happened just like that. Accident.
Great reply and terrific website! Lots of work, but well worth it.
FERRY AND HIS GIRL FRIEND EDDY need to sign FORM 180 or SHUT UP ...
Over at MSNBC a few minutes ago, they were saying the race was still virtually a dead heat. They wish. How they can spew this baloney with a straight face is beyond me.
"Fact check?" They didn't deal with any of the assertions in the ad. They just whine about the money sources as if we all believed Barbara Streisand was paying for the Swiftie's ads? Gimme a break!
The answer appears in post 11. ;-)
Moral and intelligent journalists exist, but many aren't, and don't want to be, terribly well informed. This makes it easy to just start harping away on the Bush connections--contracts, contributions and so on. If they do it enough the average uninformed voter might just revert to the pox on both their houses template thus blunting the effect of the SBVs.
Seems like the usual Dem response team is finally going online.
Here's the best part: Rank and file Dem activists are at their computers right now sending this press release to everyone in their address book. And anyone with half a brain reading it will say to themselves, "wait a minute, it doesn't say in here anywhere that he didn't throw the medals away. Is 'Republicans don't like Kerry' supposed to be a refutation of Kerry threw his medals back? What a buncha knobs!"
What's more more, the ads are going to backfire and help us. That's why we are urging Bush to stop them.
Got it?
And Judy Woodruff at CNN interviewed a pair of Australian tourists who were stunned at seeing a soldier or policeman with a machinegun...didn't hear exactly where they saw this. But they weren't used to seeing things like that...(probably around Madison Square Garden.) Judy smirked and said, well, she should have told them it wasn't usual in NY most of the time, but this week was the republican national convention...as if armed hordes were massing up in Brooklyn, about to take to the streets to demonstrate how much they hate GW.
Just saw the Swifties ad again on Fox, where they say flat out that he sold out the country and the vets and gave the enemy for free what prisoners of war refused to give under torture. Devastating ad. Don't see how Kerry can survive much longer.
Bingo!!!
Cleland didn't lose the limbs in combat, but he has never claimed he did. He was exiting a helicopter at a hilltop LZ, saw a grenade (which he assumed he had dropped) and it went off in his hand. The pin had been pulled when it dropped free from his webbing rig.
Me neither. It was way too long.
In their dreams.
If the Kerry campaign really thought the ads were backfiring on Bush they would start funding the SBVT.
Well, I'm glad you said that; I looked and looked and couldn't find any FACT CHECK for the "Medals" ad.
