Even though only a third of the country defines itself as "Republican," you control the White House, Congress, Supreme Court and most state governments.Let me help you with your confusion, Lumpy. A quite large percentage identifies itself as "conservative." Rather larger than makes sense, in fact, given two recent terms for Clinton and a close election in 2000.
Against this, compare that only a small percentage of the country identifies itself as "liberal," "communist," or "anarchist," whatever the numbers they manage to put into selected streets on big occasions every few years. Thus, you and your Ben Affleck-Barbra Streisand Hollywood elite are not exactly in a position to crow over the demographics here.

the life of me can't understand why USAToday didn't apply
