Listening to Kerry speech at AL convention live
9/1/04 | Self

Kerry on local radio at the American Legion convention in Nashville.

He starts off by buying John Glenn's support by promising him another trip into space.

Opening joke about him having a problem keeping his speech under 10 minutes falls absolutely flat.

"Is a supporter without connections to a vet welcome? My husband and I would love to be there."

All Vietnam veterans and their families and supporters are asked to attend.

It is amazing that the media let him get away with pretending that he isn't part of the government.

It would be cool if you could get one of them to condemn Kerry for being a sell-out or "he betrayed the cause, man".

So, Kerry sells out all his fellow soldiers to the enemy and then sells out his hippy buddies to the establishment machine to become pres (hehehe).

This guy would sell out his mother if he thought it would help him.

"I actually loved my mother, before I hated her."

Kerry is delusional, and blames everyone but himself when things go wrong.

%%%%%%

He is so used to living without having to be responsible for ANYTHING, that blaming others is instinctive.

In his homes, his wives made the decisions. In the Senate where he has showed up on a very part-time basis, office work proceeded 'effortlessly' [Kerry's effort, that is], which proves that being a Senator does not have to consume much energy - Strom Thurmond probably contributed more to the Senate, after he turned 80, than Kerry did in his 20 years.

When he was between wives, he apparently spent years bumming off of friends with spare apartments, or even couches.

He assumes that this current campaign staff will perform without his effort, as well, saving him for the daily photo-op.

He could not lead a crew of 5 enlisted men well, and he has done nothing in his life to change that quality of dealing with leadership.

I bet he is still lying to his campaign media liaisons about his Vietnam records.

Thanks for the update. Do you know if they belong to religion of peace? I do not know much about that area and I am hurting so much today that I do not feel like doing much research.

Sorry...I am sorry you are hurting...Chechnyan terrorists are indeed Muslim. They want a Islamic state. Although, the news doesn't report this. I don't know why...murderous scum.

Started a vanity about this, as suggested.

I have worked at the polls in the last 2 elections in CA. If somebody ordered an absentee ballot, but did not mail it in, they can either turn the ballot in at the polling place, or they can vote on a "Provisional Ballot" which means that it will be set aside until the "counters" can make sure that they did not also send in an absentee ballot. The Provisional Ballot is placed in a bright pink envelope to distinguish it from all the other ballots.

Thanks. If anybody knows who they are, and what they think today, I'd bet some FReepers do.

" It would be cool if you could get one of them to condemn Kerry for being a sell-out or "he betrayed the cause, man"."

I have a letter along those lines, in my office at home.
One of Kerry's anti war compadres wrote a letter to some publication, in the late 70's early 80s, IIRC.
He was angry that Kerry had changed his story on the medal tossing and was now claiming, as he was running for office-
that well, he never actually threw his own medals over the fence, he threw the medals of a WWII vet.
This guy was angry at Kerry , because Kerry for all those years had lied to his fellow anti war radicals and had claimed he heaved his own medals.
Basically called him a sell out.
If I get time this evening, I'll dig it out and send it to you.

I'm with you. Thank you for your service. I was at the Swiftvet site to donate again today, and for a split second, I thought about "backlash". Heck with it, fire up the Visa card!

POS is now lecturing the AL on how to treat the Iraq war vets when they come home!!

That takes the frikkin' cake, don't it? I thought Clinton had gall. Kerry is too clueless. I bet he hasn't had a serious conservation with a vet since 1976.

That ballroom holds over 5000 , 200-250 people applauding at best. I know what applause sounds like in that room . I work there
