LOWER than Clinton's. It's amazing.

What are John Kerry's morals, Alex?

Dear The G Man,

LOL. I didn't realize that.

Don't confuse them with the facts.

Yeah, does Bush get credit for 300,000 new job this month since he took all that heat on the under estimate last month?

That's one of the reasons for the growing gap between the establishment and household surveys. A lot of the growth in employment is in small firms and start-ups.

Precisely. The newer technology - completely computerized equipment that requires a much smaller workforce - is allowing much smaller competitive firms. That is really throwing off the employment numbers, and a surprisingly large number of analysts don't seem to comprehend this. In fact, I've not heard even Greenspan speak to this issue.

How do you miss 36,000 jobs?

Ask my brother-in-law. He's been looking for 25 years and hasn't found one.

"Did you see that stupid grin on his face as he sheepishly hid behind Edwards while defended his client (I mean running mate). He looked like he himself was embarrassed at what he was doing."

Maybe that is why he had to get "happy" to pull this stunt off. The joke is on him once again, he tried to "flip" VP Cheney and "flopped".

"Yes, but FOX had an analyist on that said the economists were expecting 150,000 jobs to be added.

Another Bush failure"

Preposterous! FOX needs new a analyst.

Given that the unemployment RATE has dropped during the last year, it is apparent that more than 150,000 jobs have been created per month. This survey of manufacturers is not accounting for all the work being done - it includes only large firm's jobs. That is the bottom line is that 5.4% is lower than last year - and that means more jobs are being done compared to new people entering the workforce.

the Vice President got five deferments! Five!
He must've used those deferments pretty well to end up CEO of Haliburton, a Legislator from WY and Vice president. I'd say the country gained something by giving him a pass, of course you'd say the same about Bill Clinton?

Interesting. Twice the previous number. How do you miss 36,000 jobs?

Easy. You do what Missouri Gov. Holden's butt-boy in Jeff City did and count all the teachers on vacation in June and July as "unemployed".

That alone skewed to unemployed count by 59,000 jobs.

Woofer out

The whole point is that those who left the mainstream workforce and go into business themselves is not part of the manufacturer's survey at all. It can only be accounted for in the household survey, and I'm not convinced that does a very precise job at all.

The UE Rate has dropped by 1% since Bush's Tax-cut was enacted.

Worth repeating... nay ... screaming out loud.

ABC called it "So So". This is HUGH!!!! Series!!!

Spin it libs, but we are now at just under 900,000 jobs lost using dim figures. First of all, this lib argument is lame. Secondly, the libs screamed 8 million jobs lost in the beginning. Then it was 5 million jobs lost... then 3.5 million... then 2.5 million... then 1.7 million... then 1.2 million... now 900,000. I see a defined pattern in these numbers!!! :-)
