thanks for your input but I have another question how many of you "carriers" have been talked to or had a secound look by a cop or other trained personnel while wearing a "hidden"?
isn't it nice to take a break from the political stuff :)
Forgot 2 more good ones...

Personally, I like single stack because of the slimness of the weapon.
I understand your nerve problem I've had it in the past and know guys that do now
Howdy there, Texas finest! I'm also a Texan amd a CHL holder.
I've had only one incident. I was in San Antonio, (for an interview), and of course I had to go see the Alamo. I had a North American Arms .32 in my back pocket and my .45 on my left hip, under my vest. (Cross-draw) Anyway the officer at the door said he could tell what is was by the outline in my back pocket and gave me a pretty bad time for a couple of hours.
Now my "backup" goes in my boot.
Here's one nobody likely thinks about until they carry; The restroom. I've been in a situation in a public restroom where there is no shelf or such and the stall door doesn't reach the floor. Remember, the C in CHL means "concealed", so you can't leave it in the holster as it will be seen. You can where this is going. Yes, I had to sit in a diner's bathroom, with my pants around my ankles, holding a gun. Use your imagination about the TP.
To the original author of this thread: Left hip, grip forward, inside the pants, ordinary vest. Left hip, I say, so you can reach it while driving.
I carry a wheel gun - is it really that apparent?
(I don't have the girth to carry tucked in my waistband).
Stay safe !.....
That's why I recommend a paddle holster. You can pull it out as a unit without the holster showing under the door
It is to me, Most people are sleepwalking and unaware of their surroundings
Stay safe !
One of my favorites is a pair of shorts, sleeveless tee, and a cut off sleeve old BDU shirt as a cover shirt. People stay far enough away that they don't see anything. If LE shows an interest, I ID myself discreetly and move on my way
As you're law enforcement, please let me ask you a question. The company I work for has the correct "30.06" sign on all the doors, except the back door.
Am I correct in thinking that I'm OK entering that door, which is what I do? The info I've found at packing.org, the TXDOT site, etc. seems to indicate I'm right. Am I?
I'm lazy and just leave my gun in my truck. In Nevada you can conceal within your vehicle.
Stay safe Sir !

Not likely. Since you work for this company, you apparently know that it prohibits carrying. If you are discovered, you may be legally OK, but you'll be hitting the unemployment line.
Sometimes legal isn't safe.
I couldn't find anything in company policy about weapons one way or the other and the building is leased. Some of the signage still has the previous occupant's name on it, so I don't know who's idea the 30.06 sign was. And, I'm certainly not going to ask. Do that and I might as well tape the CHL to my forehead.
If at some time I do get fired over this, no problem. I'd rather be looking for a job than be dead.
Thanks.
If you're aware of the signs on the other doors, splitting hairs by entering the door that they forgot is not going to do you any good. You have received effective notice of the owners desires and can be arrested.
I came into work one night dressed like that-they had a fine young citizen in cuffs in the squadroom while they proceesed some paperwork before taking him to the sheriffs bed and breakfast. The look on his face as I walked in, barked a few orders at some troops and started coffee was priceless. You could see he didn't understand why I wasn't in cuffs, and why the hell were these guys doing what I told them to?
I make it a personal policy to not be involved in things that may one day be case law. I make the same suggestion to anyone who believes in RKBA. Don't be the example they want to make of you, stay low key
where should I post it, and how do I get it there?
"stay low key"
You sure got that one right!
When I read your previous, you got me scrambling. Sometimes its confusing. In a govt building, no. Court, no. State govt building, OK. Oh, heck, any govt building, fine. Wait...
The "must be posted on every entrance" issue was brought up by none other than my instructor who told us that he simply goes in the service entrance rather than crossing the sign.
Little did I know that I would later face the same situation.
Thank you kindly sir, for your input.
