WEST ALLIS, Wis. - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday offered former President Bill Clinton (news - web sites), who faces heart bypass surgery, "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery."
"He's is in our thoughts and prayers," Bush said at a campaign rally.
Bush offered his wishes while campaigning one day after accepting the presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in New York. Clinton was hospitalized in New York after complaining of mild chest pain and shortness of breath.
Bush recently praised Clinton when the former president went to the White House for the unveiling of his official portrait. He lauded Clinton for his knowledge, compassion and "the forward-looking spirit that Americans like in a president."
See the previous thread.
You've gotta be kidding me.....
wowser..the old media is on its death bed.
BTW, prayers for Clinton.
Even though I can't stand Slick's Politicks, I wish him well and a speedy recovery.......
Someone who had connections to conservative commentators needs to forward these two Free Republic threads to them. If we hadn't have been paying attention, this liberal bias would have remained. But we caught them. It needs to be noted when the Left tries to ridicule the charge of a Liberal media bias.
Good catch!
Rather, I heard applause when Bush asked for prayers for Clinton.
BTW, prayers for Clinton.
Yes, because good comedians are few and far between!
What previous thread?
This one:

The AP removed their blatant lies in the corrected story.
Holy cow. How amazing is that?
Scroll down.
My favorite one was last Q when the economy grew by 2.8% and the headline was "Confirmed: US Economy Contracting". They had to change that one two. But not after a few million people read it.
I don't understand. AP said there was booing where there was none?
Eds: SUBS lead to include reference to surgery. DELETES 3rd graf previous, Bush's audience, because of uncertainty about crowd reaction.

Got it. Thanks!
He's in my thoughts and prayers too.
AP actually did report booing before they didn't report booing.
"BTW, prayers for Clinton"
From Psalm 109, 8.:
Let his days be few; and let another take his office
Uncertainty about the crowd reaction??
Then fire the reporter.
How about today. "Fallout from Miller speech still unknown". Fallout is a very negative term.Radioactive come to mind. Then WAY later in the article it says focus groups responding favorably to Miller speech. The list goes on.
Oh my God. Kerry IS the AP?
Same here!

It was filmed. There were no boos. The AP lied by claiming that there were boos, they got caught, and now they've hit the great "Delete" button of history...
5 Legislative Days Left Until The AWB Expires
'You must find someone to hate, as much as you must find someone to love. Just as love keeps you alive, the hate will keep you interested in living.'
I do not 'hate' Bill Clinton, I can think of no one I hate, but he and his wife do keep things interesting.
(If someone can help with the movie and the exact line, it would be appreciated)
They actually were trying to capitalize on Clinton's HEART ATTACK? To attack out President and his supporters? Blatant Lies? I knew the story was off when reported but this is sick!
Yup--no Liberal bias here.
And they SHOULD remove the booing. Regardless of politics, we should never wish ill on a fellow American. Not even Bill Clinton.
They don't see us as human. They blindly write their lies into their pieces without even thinking. It's sad, really, and the AP is the worst.
Wishing the former president the very best for recovery.
I do,too...
When do I get to read that the reporter responsible for the bald-faced lie has been fired from his/her job???
Never mind...I know it wont happen. I do wonder though, how do these media nuts plan to survive after the election is over and Bush remains in office?? Each time I hear of another one of these outlets going broke, I will open another bottle of expensive wine to celebrate their demise!
Can somebody send this info to Brit Hume?
My prayers are out for Bill and the entire family.
BTW, they just said on the radio the entire republican rally offered a respectfull applause for Clinton. There were no boos at all
I heard it on the radio and I also heard nothing but applause.
Sweet, I just finished my complaint to AP and sent it to them.
Wonderful. Now the left has fuel. They will say that the right wing media has edited out the boos.
I question the timing of this operation........ (wink, wink)
It depends upon what the meaning of "boo" is.
Wow! They actually used the lie as their headline?!?
This has got to be exposed.
I pray some conservative commentator looks in at Free Republic once in a while throughout the day.
I wonder if anyone knows what the DU was saying when VP Cheny was in the hospital? I can almost bet it was not a get well soon conversation.....
Get 'em before they're taken down.

The President is dismantling the nutty Left's portrait of him as someone who runs around hating people. I loathe Clinton but I think the most fitting punishment for the miscreant's misdeeds is having him around.
I think the point is that no one booed. The associated press put that line in there.
Let's hope it gets more airplay than just around Free Republic.
Unfortunately it is Friday before a 3 day weekend and the conservative commentators are tired from covering the convention.
That one is really interesting. Someone at the Boston Globe went out of their way to add the 'Audience boos as' to the AP headline. Every other one I've seen more or less uses the AP feed, some use AP redirects so their stories are fed directly from the AP.
