Registering black people to vote was only part of Bob Moses' job 40 years ago in Mississippi, where he and fellow civil rights activists ran Freedom Schools as an antidote to the poor "sharecropper education" being afforded descendants of slaves.

Now at the helm of the Algebra Project, a Boston-based mathematics program aimed at demonstrating that black students can learn, Moses is at the forefront of a new movement, one to have quality public education declared a civil right.

Why not take on something more difficult, such as demonstrating the blacks can do, on average, as well on standardized tests as whites and Asians?

Then there is this gem in the article:
"there is the notion that black children can't do well in open inquiry classrooms, (that) they have to have direct instruction, they need to have structured instruction, and they are not supposed to be able to handle instruction in situations where they're asked to think."

This is from the people that are supposed to be helping. Amazing.

This is why black people should rise up and sue the Teachers Union for hate crimes in blatant descrimination of not providing an equal education for their children.
