A foreign cousin of mine (who has dual citizenship) is sure that bin Laden is incarcerated already by the U.S. bin Laden will be brought forward, she insists, for display in mid to late October. Just in time...

nah, the 'being first' element of fun is ruined now.

I think I'll go pout like john kerry did last night.

But only after a few drinks to be authentic.

“Our president (George W. Bush) has said we will arrest Osama bin Laden. It is guaranteed,” he said, adding it could happen tomorrow, in a week or a month from now.

Or in October.....LOL I'm sure this will drive the libs up a tree!

Great post. IMHO, OBL's deader than Kerry's conscience, honesty and integrity.

I have read many reports of increased activity in pakistan recently, but none of it perks to the MSM.

Of course I saw the same pattern prior to Al Noors capture.

MSM didnt even report the capture for close to a week after Pak papers declared they had him.

I'm absolutely certain that we have Bin Hiden in our sights in a known place. This is why the announcement/leak is coming out now....the absolute farthest away from election day as is possible at this time. Hope y'all get my drift.

If so, the timing is delicious.

I clicked on the article you cited and it doesn't say all that you posted. It doesn't say he might ;be captured in a day a week or a month.

Kerry owes us tax payers 8 months of military duty. why don't we just send him in there to find OBL.
if he never comes back, well, it happens.

"The timing is suspicous."

Yep. Whenever it happens, the timing will be suspicious. There is no safe time to capture OBL.

Arrest of bin Laden closer than ever, U.S. official says

Associated Press / Kyodo

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 3 — A U.S. counterterrorism official said here Friday that nearly 75 percent of the al-Qaida terror network’s senior leadership has been eliminated and the capture of its fugitive chief, Osama bin Laden, is closer than ever.
Cofer Black, U.S. State Department coordinator for counterterrorism, told a select group of journalists that the arrests of hundreds of al-Qaida activists and members of its top hierarchy by Pakistan have brought the arrest of bin Laden closer.

“If you are asking if we are close to getting OBL, the answer is yes,” he said, when asked whether the large-scale arrests are leading to the capture of bin Laden, the prime suspect in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.

“Our president (George W. Bush) has said we will arrest Osama bin Laden. It is guaranteed,” he said, adding it could happen tomorrow, in a week or a month from now.

Black, a former CIA agent, spoke after attending a meeting between Pakistani and U.S. officials on counterterrorism, in which they discussed matters relating to terrorism, narcotics and capacity building in the two fields.

Black denied suggestions that Washington has tasked Islamabad with the arrest of bin Laden. “The United States does not give tasks to Pakistan. Pakistan is an independent and sovereign state,” he said.

A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said that during the two days of talks, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation and reaffirmed their determination to improve such efforts and work closely in the mutual interest of both countries.

“Hundreds of al-Qaida killers have been removed from the scene and innocent people made safe,” Black said, while lauding the role of President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and the Pakistani government in killing and arresting a large number of terrorists in an ongoing crackdown on terror.

Assuming we are going to catch him someday, then yes... technically, today we'd be 'closer than ever' to catching him.

And tomorrow we'd be closer still.

OBL would be a symbolic catch anyway - wouldn't change a thing in the W.O.T.

According to this Russian site, we already have Osama!

http://www.profindpages.com/news/2004/09/02/MN336.htm

Osama bin Laden has been captured in Pakistan?
(02.09.2004)

We have received reports from US sources that Pakistani security forces have captured Osama bin Laden.

According to these sources, bin Laden was captured not far from Chitral in the Northern part of Pakistan (between Chitral and Peshawar), approximately 4 weeks ago.

This has not yet been confirmed, but we are told the information comes from a source that has provided reliable reports in the past.

We received a report almost 2 weeks ago suggesting that two high level Al-Qaeda operatives were being held in Pakistan and it was believed that their capture was to be announced to coincide with the Republican convention. Whether one of these is Osama bin Laden is uncertain.

According to the US sources, the capture of the "Big Fish" will not be officially announced until sometime next month, in what is sure to be "Headline" news throughout the world.

If the information is correct, it will help bring some "closure" to the 9/11 terrorist attack and bring to justice the worlds most wanted terrorist.

Osama bin Laden has not been seen for some time and there have been many reports of his death since the 9/11 attack, although recordings of his voice have been reported quite recently.

Whilst his capture would certainly put and end to a long running hunt and mystery, it would also raise a few questions as to why this has not already been announced. Although the US government have played down bin Laden's present importance in Al-Qaeda, there can be no denying that he is still the man they have wanted to catch for almost 3 years.

Hopefully, official confirmation on this will be available shortly, so that we can determine whether these are simply rumours or fact. We certainly hope the news is true, but we shall be keeping the champagne on ice for a little while longer, just in case.

October surprise, coming up!!
