Big Pro-Life Demonstration At Kerry Rally in Ohio

Posted on 09/04/2004 1:44:12 PM PDT by MrChips

Just announced on Fox News. About 300 pro-life demonstrators from the Catholic Steubenville University are protesting his appearance in the town, there, by showing up at his rally. Are there any local folks who can add anything more?

I am glad to hear about this. I am also surprised that Fox covered anything but Frances.

If I hear much more about Frances, I think I'll die.

I know a girl who is attending Steubenville. I'll bet she's at the rally, too.

LOL, sorry I couldn't put your emphasis back in. Yes, I have been to HTML Bootcamp but I failed.

Super! I love it when a campaign collapses in such a spectacular fashion! Like RATS from a sinking ship, they're all abandoning him! Last time I looked, Catholic colleges were a bastion for liberalism.

Not Steubenville....that's the home of EWTN and Mother Angelica.

Well, the place is named after San Francesco (as he's called in his own language).

At the NAACP Convention, Kerry did as he would be happy to talk with people that disagreed with him. Unless Kerry he was lying to black people...he should talk with them.

Your last name is not Christensen, is it ?

My old Prof Reo from Miami U.

Kerry's dopes probably did not know about the conservative Catholic movement being headquartered at Franciscan. I hope Scott Hahn kicks Kerry's CINO (Catholic in Name Only) butt.

That's great. I live close to Steubenville, but was unable to freep him today due to family commitments. When Kerry was in Wheeling, WV in April, a bunch of kids from the Catholic high school in that town and several other pro-lifers protested (along with some of us freepers), and just aggravated the heck out of his mostly union thug supporters. I'm so glad the kids from Franciscan (known locally as Steubie U.) are out there today.

Well, not quite. EWTN makes its home outside of Birmingham, AL in a little town called Irondale.

Franciscan University of Steubenville does happen to be one of the most conservative Catholic Universities in the country. We know a girl who attends there and the students and faculty alike are in tune with traditional Catholic values, not the typical American 'Cafeteria' Catholic values we hear so much about.

Scott Hahn, the conservative Presbyterian scholar and pastor turned conservative Roman Catholic scholar and theologian is a professor at Steubenville.

Steubenville and Zanesville are seedbeds of Catholic conversion, especially by former protestant pastors. Marcus Grodi, of the Coming Home Network (EWTN Program 'The Journey Home') makes his home in Zanesville.

It may be that the Catholic vote in Ohio makes all the difference. Kerry has so galvanized the Pro-Life forces against him, especially Catholics, he can't expect his CINO status to garner him many votes.

Its the ISSUES stupid!

W04.

For the most part, that would be the Jebbie institutions.

The ones I was familiar with back in the 70's were havens for lesbianism and feminist rights. Nice to hear that there are survivors!
