Children should not die for coming to school.

How can the mothers and fathers of the dead children understand this? Does Putin now wish he had been part of the War on Terror? These pictures were horrid. So, were the ones from Spain and the ones from 9/11. What will it take for people to realize we are at war with the Islamo Fascists? Obviously, Kerry supporters don't get it.

Ambassador Ushakov

My condolences to the survivors of the terrorist violence in Beslan and prayers for the all of the victims.

It is difficult to express the terrible sadness and the enormous rage this event evokes in me personally, and in my fellow American citizens.

The evil of Islamists is beyond measuring, and the current War on Terror is a global one. I fervently hope our President George Bush is working closely with your President Putin for a vigorous and just prosecution of the odious villains of this particular event, and of the larger war as well.

May our two countries' common sadness and outrage at this tragic episode lead to deeper trust and cooperation in the pursuit of the peaceful world we both desire.

Sincerely

Phil Dragoo

Thank you Andy.

“And so we may know that this same God, who by His hand led us through the world, now withdraws it... and opens His embrace to receive the longing soul.” (Søren Kierkegaard)

"In order to open that embrace, God must first let go of our hand. For a moment -- one that feels like an eternity -- He must withdraw His strength and support, and we feel abandoned. Yet God never abandons those He loves; and by an unfathomable miracle of grace, He loves us all." (Fr John Breck).

I don't know what happens next, but I know this. It doesn't end here. This is just the beginning of something very different. The bodies aren't all counted yet, and the shock hasn't faded either, but already the rage is beginning to grow.

Islam isn't going to like what comes next.

Leviticus 20:4-5

If the people of the community close their eyes when that man gives one of his children to Molech and they fail to put him to death, I will set my face against that man and his family and will cut off from their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molech.

The Butchers of Beslan

The butchers of Beslan
May they burn in hell
We pray for their victims
And the families of all who fell

The name of Islam is cursed
By all who love peace
Revulsion fills our hearts
Towards the heartless beasts

Lives cut short by terror
Life and liberty denied
But retribution will come
For all who died

Children are the apple
Of the eye of our Lord
The God of Justice will repay
With His sure swift sword

I met Yuri a few years ago when we were guests at a dinner there. He was most impressive, of course. I am wishing I knew what he was saying now.

In fact, I was interviewed, along with another woman, by the press after the dinner. And during the conversation the other American woman said to the Russian reporter that we are all the same people, good people, everywhere, in all countries, really.

And I just popped out with "Except for the chechens", with no thought or hesitation.

At which the Russian reporter quickly ducked her head and tried to stop a huge smile I saw on her face. I think she was even chuckling some.

As we repudiate the "mainstream media" we will lift the veil of "political correctness" and see Chechens not as "separatists" but terrorists.

May Putin divest himself of his public opposition to our work in Iraq--and join us there.

Putin had the good sense to oust Soros, and now he's seen Chirac and Schroeder chastise his reaction at Beslan.

Out of this outrage may cooperation in the war on terror grow.

We have a few here or there still. It's a Russian thing, but I guess not funny if you didn't know about it.

I suspect he was less opposed than overwhelmed already. It's not like he doesn't have his hands full, as the last few weeks show.

If he was so opposed, according to the western press, why did he come out with the support of Bush when Bush was getting attacked all over, saying that HE (Putin) told Bush that Saddam had WMD and planned to use them against us.

Not really good politics to announce to the world, though - gee we're having a hard enough time with our own military problems and moral right now. Better to just say you are opposed or hint at it.

Absolutely. Russia has a gigantic military machine from the Soviet Era which it must make manageable today.

The Kursk and other debacles have exposed the weakness and decay.

I would think Bush and his team could establish rapport with Putin and his, a working relationship.

Another Crawford barbecue after the Kerry sinks in November.

Putin represents a military which has suspected an American attack for the past fifty years, one which also built Yamantau Mountain's bunker complex and has maintained Biopreparat sites as sealed cities.

We Americans at all levels are learning to dismiss the filter of media propaganda, and Putin has been working on his media as well.

You read my mind with this one. Thanks for posting, Andy!

I talked to a friend tonight who had been at odds with me politically. This bit of horror has changed his mind... and likely his vote. So, pardon me (those of you who deign to belittle us for identifying the political consequences of actions) for offending, but this matters... with regard to the upcoming elections and the safety of men, women, and children of Western Civilization. The Left shant hesitate to politicize mass murder when it again takes our brethren. Yet on what basis? There is no neutral ground between food and poison... goodness and evil. The images here remind us of what horror awaits us the minute we surrender discrimination to tolerance without judgment...

... and brutal offensive initiative to nuanced and 'sensitive' political calculation.

I've been reading nearly all of the threads on this since the shooting started there, and there isn't a single one of them with photos that doesn't leave me with tears in my eyes. Yet I still keep reading them. It's not like having to look at a car wreck because you're curious, it's having to look Evil in the eye. It's having to feed on the sheer anger at these animals.

I sincerely hope that the fine people of Russia will now join us in this war. I also hope that now - finally - the next time a Pali blows up a bus in Israel, that the Russians understand just a little better about how the Israelis feel. Maybe there will be some compassion between former enemies who now have a common enemy.

All things happen for a reason. Sometimes the lessons seem a little too expensive, but those are the lessons which tend to have the higher purpose.

May God bless the souls of our fallen allies. May the terrorists face a Hell that no human can even imagine.

It was time to get medieval on Chechnya a long time ago. For example, in 1995 when the rebels seized a hospital with hundreds of people in it, or when they took the people hostage at the Moscow theater. Those are just few of many similar events.

My question is, What the hell is Putin waiting for?!?!?!?!?!? More and more blood from the Russian people (children)? Or is he just scared that if he was to start cleaning up Chechnya then he is gonna get bad criticism from EU? Well George Bush told the EU to go f.... themselves and still went to Iraq to do his business.
