My home-schooled daughter is now a Junior in Chemical Engineering at Rice University in Houston. She is a good, sweet, pleasant person. She and I took a side trip to Dublin, Ireland this past summer together and she was good company.
She just turned 20 years old a couple weeks ago, so we made it through her teen years with a minimum of fussing and fighting.
Homeschooling, very limited television and movie exposure, and regular church attendance help one to raise a good kid.
Good luck to you.

"I should have suggested similar ages and no assault."A crime? No. But if caught, the parents need to know, and I would suggest counseling for anyone younger than 16.
After 16, if it were my kid, they'd be grounded until they were 18. But that's just me.

When my daughter was in 1st grade, my wife witnessed a boy showing another boy how to give oral sex using a corn dog. Trailer trash.

I think the only thing that has really changed is that when little kids play doctor, the boy gets caught and gets labeled as a sex offender instead of just getting a spanking.
The boy boy thing is a bit different though.

It's really lame to blame the behavior of those 2 boys on Clinton. Also, your screen name is pretty funny in this context.

Thank goodness these kids weren't homeschooled or maybe they were. I like your points about good parenting. More than anything else, it is parenting or the lack of it that influences kids today. I know most of the people here don't believe it, but teachers are among the biggest family advocates out there. We know firsthand what damage divorces do or the difficulties that happen with single parents raising kids (note that not all single parents are in their circumstance by their choice or all divorcees; however, I do think that all gay couple are there by choice, not anything in their genes as they like to claim). We also know what influences strong parents have on their kids AND that a two-parent nuclear (not radioactive) family with at least one spouse (preferrably a stay at home mom) around the kids a lot who spend time with them is the best family situation. I know that the media and other people will tell you different, but that IS the case. We advocate strong families and applaud strong parenting.
