"but I can't take it to the debate with me."
What does that mean? What if a Republican said that?

Much ado about nothing I think. However, I'm glad I don't have sharp objects in my hand when I debate sometimes *LOL*

It's probably just as well, John. You might nick yourself with it.

What if a Republican said that? They'd have breaking news reports on the network news channels.

What does that mean? What if a Republican said that?Well immediately an apology would be DEMANDED!
That being said, someone should tell Kerry that the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting.

30 years ago, it would have made no difference if a person had brought in a gift of a gun anywhere.
the POS progressive socialist democrats have made self-defense, hunting, and sport an "evil" for the "commoner" - only THEY can have guns since THEY are your "lords".
Read up on the reasons for having the "RHODES SCHOLAR" program! Wouldn't you love to be under the 'Rue Britannia' system again of Lords and serfs.

Doesn't really matter. He'd have to call in the U.N. for a resolution first.

What does that mean? What if a Republican said that? According to the MSM:
Democrat: "Edgy humor"
Republican: "Gun-toting kook who should be locked up"

Better he left the shotgun at home. He might have a relapse of his 90 days in the Nam and shoot a toe off.

It would be hysterical if the Secret Service patted Kerry down onstage before the debate starts but after the network coverage starts.

Just last week, somebody fired a bullet in WV Republican headquarters, with 20 people inside watching the convention.
Now Kerry's in WV talking about bringing guns to debates. It's really just a stupid, harmless remark, but if W had said the same he would be crucified.

If a Republican said that it would a Special Report interrupting some fat ladys soap operas telling her that the Republican hinted at killing his democratic rival.

Charming, just charming. A man "jokes" about taking a gun to a debate with the President of the United States, and NO ONE calls him on it?

The thing that struck me is that Kerry cannot even make a "joke" without putting his foot in his mouth. He doesn't know what is proper and what is not because he really hasn't been around regular people.
You just don't make a statement like that with all the problems we've had re: the Washington Sniper and all the added protection for the President since 9/11...
But WAIT! He was at that meeting back in the early 70's where they discussed the killing of certain senators.....
Boy, what a dumb comment to make! Unreal! But, the MSM won't pick up on it.....

It was a shotgun before it was a rifle, geeze old media has now joined in the flip-flopping.

Well, according to Drudge, he probably couldn't take the gun to the debate because he sponsored a bill to ban that particular piece!!! Something is wrong with that man. I believe his brain has been raah-vaahh-ged...(What kind of accent is that?)

What if a Republican said that?If GWB had said that, the media's reaction would've been equivalent to what they did when Reagan joked into an open mike: "My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you that I have signed legislation to outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."
IOW, the media would have gone thermonuclear.
